Default 2008 National Treasures Case Break/No Break?

Quick help on this. Wondering if I should break the 2008 NT case I purchased for $999 on Black Friday or keep it sealed? I don't really need anything for my PC right now but not sure if this will increase in value or not as the sales seem down right now for individual cards.

Thanks

Probably a crap shoot. Its worth what you paid today. Barring injuries, it should go up, get those injuries and it will go down (Figure right now Ryan is hurt, but Flacco is playing well, McFadden is playing and CJ is tearing it up). But with redemptions, it may loose some value (that being said, Panini is the best I've seen with honoring redemptions). Given xmas time (FB season in full swing, loved ones looking for gifts), this would probably be about the best time to open it for this year.

Crack that sucka!

In the event you are going to hold most of the big guns are live in the product. RAPs that are redemptions are CJ, Mendenhall and Sweed (CJs and Sweeds were never made I believe).

Nope. There are CJ Exquisites on Ebay right now. Both flavors, the /75 SP and the regular one numbered /299. Now does UD still have any left though? hmmm....

And to address the original post. I'd be soooo tempted to open that case. If you do, GOOD LUCK.

Oops.. I R DUMB. Got all excited reading about a possible case bust. My bad for not reading it correctly...

You could do a group break. The low price you paid for it would be great for the slot pricese. I'd be in for a couple

Or you could sell the boxes to some of the members that didn't get a shot at them. I'd buy a box. For the discounted price. LOL

Much appreciated for the advice. I would sell the boxes for a fraction over what I paid net to spread the wealth to others but I do not think I am allowed to sell wax on the forums. Sooooo tempting to break these open

I give you credit for holding off, I wont buy a box/case w/out the intentions of opening it. I know this up front so very little if anything has ever stayed sealed at my house. The longest anything has gone was my 1st two boxes of Superlative Hockey. Very glad I opened those as I hit two great cards (Tavares Gold Autothreads 1/1, Chelios Complete Jersey /9 - Redwings).

Your correct on selling the box/cases directly on the forums (its a big no no)

If your having 2nd thoughts, I'd do a through look on ebay and see what the average price per card is bringing (excluding the base unless you took a "lot" approach). If you think you'll be ahead, bust it, if not, then I'd say find a way to flip it. Me I'd be busting as I love NT and I'm weak

If it was me, it would have been busted before I had time to post. Good luck if you decide to open it.

group break. price will go up if you want to hold onto it....last year i was busting 07 NT cases as group breaks on another board. i was getting a six box case for $1250. it was fun while it lasted, but that source all but dried up. now i'm hard pressed to find a box any cheaper than $400.
