Default Best way to ship a $600 item?

Just sold a card for $600 on ebay. For something this expensive I always use UPS 2nd Air. The buyer said he will not be home this week and said to go ahead and use USPS. With USPS I always use FIRST CLASS, but for this package I want to try PRIORITY MAIL.

The package is a normal bubble mailer like the image below..

For a package like that can I Select PRIORITY MAIL (2-3 DAYS) PACKAGE/THICK ENVELOPE? With insurance and everything it cost me $17.16 and I have no problem with the price.

THANKS!!

That should fit in a small Priority Mail flat rate box no problem, just stick it in there & mail it out with the insurance & what not. The small box would give better protection that the flat "envelope".

I always use Priority Small Flat rate box and have never had a problem. But I have had a problem before with mailing out like your bubble envelope.

cardboard is very thin on the small flat rate boxes.
cut up some cardboard and fill in the empty spaces on the sides.
i always ship high end singles this way with signature confirmation/insurance.

I would ship it USPS Express mail, with signature confirmation and full insurance.

But since he said he won't be home, and to use some less fast... I would do USPS Priority mail, with signature confirmation and full insurance.

I would also take the extra step and put the card in a bubble mailer, and then put the mailer in a Priority small box. The smallest box they have to fit the mailer nicely. Also put in some stuffing to fill in the space, and put tape around all possible openings.

Other than that, you should be fine.

I recent sent a very high end package.

Card in one-touch; three pieces of dummy cardboard on either side; all inside a team bag.

Placed item inside small bubble and sealed.

Pleased small bubble inside medium sized bubble and sealed.

Placed medium sized bubble inside flat rate envelope.

Signature confirmation and full insurance.

I use top loader with tape and team bag instead of one-touch. I had received 2 packages that the one-touch cases were broken and damaged the cards.

Signature, and insurance are the best that you can do.

And you should take the detail pictures of the cards before sending out. It will be to protect yourself.

If you live in Texas, first class and priority have just about the same delivery speed.
