Default 2 boxes of panini select... absolutely the worst boxes i've had in my life

So I pre-ordered two boxes and since the price went up I was sitting on them. But the temptation of pulling a kyrie or gold auto was too much. I busted both of them and I guarantee you I only made 10% back at max. Best hit was a kevin durant prizm refractor. They go from 7-10$. Absolute Trash. All of my autos were d-leaguers worth 99cents. Im gonna have to buy half a case to make myself like this product.

That's the unfortunate realization I came to after opening two cases of Select. Don't get me wrong it was quite a lot of fun to do, but I don't think I will break even on the sales. This double rookie class has turned out to be terrible value per box/case. I am not opening anymore product until next year and we only have one non-historic rookie class to deal with. On average 5-10 rookies each year will be good sellers with an average of 30-40 rookies per product. Everything from this year you get 10-12 rookies worth a darn but the product is filled with up to 100 rookies each. Waayy more crap to deal with than in a normal year. I learned my lesson the hard way.

If every box made its money back it wouldn't be fun, in order to have big hits there have to be bad boxes.

More evidence that people can't just open a nice looking product and enjoy the cards. The product will be either killer or trash based solely on how much return they made.

I'm quoting you again, because way, way too many people in all 4 sports and all products forget this logic.

also the worst possible box has to be worth more than $13. and no reason to ever sell an auto for 99c. at that price you might as well stick it away and see what happens.

will barton has been a scrub all year, and just had one of the best games of the entire season by a rookie

Or you can do what i do. Split a case with a friend. I opened 6 boxes and made my money back on four cards its all about the luck of the draw really...

Even a Kobe auto is a $125 asset, not viewed as a card signed by Kobe.

You win some, you lose some.

Keep your head up and next time you'd probably pull a black 1/1 like I did.

sorry about your bad boxes. Its like the basketball box break section is some fantasy land because not many post the bad ones. You see all those good breaks and it gets you excited. I myself not opened one, but I thought about it plenty of times.
