Default Clayton Kershaw Gold Frame auto, whats going on?

This card is really selling for a high price. Attached is a link to an auction, not mine

2013 Topps Museum Collection Clayton Kershaw Cal Ripken Back Error 1 1 Auto | eBay

how high will this card sell for? Does the ripken back really make it that much more valuable?

it depends. if this is indeed a 1/1, meaning the the other 14 versions of this card have the correct back, then yes I think it adds some value to it as it makes it "unique."

it also would entice ripken collectors somewhat, but more-so the "oddball" collectors that like this kind of stuff. that being said, if this were a Clayton Kershaw front and the back of it had Joe-Schmo Randomdude, it probably wouldn't bring any premium and may infact lower the value some.

It isn't a 1/1, because the OP bought another one just like it from a member on here that pulled it.

I'm not really sure what's going on, OP trying to promote another auction, so when he lists his it sells for more?

I hate that these errors are going on. I also hate that they had these silver autographs in mega extra bold silver sharpie. Might as well hand these players are crayon and have them sign, it just looks bad. In a product where each pack costs $50+ get a nice sharpie.

I guess the question remains, is the auction truly the only one in existence, or were you fibbing when you said it wasn't yours:

It's hard to read but I think the one he bought was 2/15 and this one listed is 9/15. I'm assuming this is for promoting his future listing.

hey guys, the one that i bought is numbered 2 out of 15 [i bought it from primecardz, you can see the card on my only itrader feedback]. i have no intention on selling mine but was wondering if the different back would really add more value to it. that's all, i am not trying to promote the other one that is numbered 9 out of 15

I'm betting that all 15 have the Ripken error back, and somehow nobody at Topps neither Kershaw's people noticed it.

That listing is from my LCS I visit, pretty interesting pull but a shame Topps printing QC sucks so bad.

I agree that this definitely takes away from the appeal of the card overall.

It's like "here ya go Mr. Kershaw, please let us know when you've finished signing..."

I think this guy may actually be 100% correct. I knew I had seen one sell on eBay last week. This one was 12/15. So I'm guessing the messed up every single Kershaw /15 auto! Just wow.
