Hi all,

Apologies if this has been posted about before, but did anyone see this eBay listing-

1997 98 Metal Universe Championship Precious Metal Gems PMG Basketball Set 1 98 | eBay

Holy crap!

Does anyone remember Fleer doing this redemption promotion? I know there have been some back door uncut sheets or other products and insert sets. Please someone tell me that that's not what I'm looking at here.

And am I the only one that thinks $40K on this is not too bad a deal?

yeah 40k seems like an ok price. its was a redemption from what i remember. there were either 5 or 10 of them

the KJ from that set is my holy grail lol

So 10 to 20 percent of the print run of the set was given away via complete set redemptions? That's unbelievable. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before. And to have each card number 50/50? Wow.

I am almost positive that there were only 5 redemption cards SP cards 45-50 were all given away as the redemption sets.$40K is not that bad of a price.The seller does not live far from me at all and if I had the funds I would buy them from him in person for a much better price.If only I had about $25K to offer him cash money in hand ...

I can't believe that I never heard about this. To imagine that Fleer even did 5 sets of the original red PMG's.... what would that be worth today?
