Default eBay - Missing Items Question

I purchased (3) boxes of football cards on eBay from a seller that I have purchased from in the last with no problems. They also have 100% positive feedback.

I received my package yesterday but it came in a USPS Small Flat Rate Box and only included 1 box of cards.

I emailed the seller using the "Item not as described" selection and after stating my issue and choosing that I didn't receive 2 items, it opened up a case. I have not heard from the seller just yet. Should I email them directly about this or just let the process play out?

This is my first time dealing with this issue (luckily) so any guidance is appreciated!

You still have not technically opened a case even though it says you have. The seller will now have 3 days to respond and if they do not you then escalate it. The problem you could face is that if you win you will likely be forced to return what you did get.

In the future contact the seller using the other choice that does not open the resolution process. At this point only respond through the case that way there is a full record of the process.

Sounds more like you clicked "report a problem" rather than "contact seller".

Shrev is right though. Make sure all correspondence at this point is done through the claim

It suppose that you need to 1rst contact the seller. No response. Go a file a claim.

Only thing is Ebay has changed the communication to if you contact the seller using any option other than other you automatically open the claim.

What makes it worse is that if a buyer does this the system freezes that money in Paypal until the buyer closes it or Ebay does. So if the buyer opens it and there is no real issue that can be tied up for 32 days.
