2001 Leaf Rookies & Stars - BaseballCardPedia.com

In the Great American Treasures set, it shows that the Maris card features a piece of the 61st HR ball... that's wrong, right??? Because...

Maybe it was a ball he hit for a home run during a stickball game on 61st Street.

But according to Sotheby's(PDF) in one of their auctions:

Quote:
Other memorabilia items used in the making of these cards includes; the cap that Hank Aaron wore when he hit his 755th Home Run, Nolan Ryan's 7th No-Hitter ball, and Roger Maris’ 61st Home Run baseball from his record setting year of 1961.

JoshHamilton is correct. The back of the card states it's from the game where he hit #61.
