Question 1997 Donruss Preferred Tin Boxes

It's funny but Beckett claims there are 1,200 of each player for the regular (which is blue) and 299 Gold's for each player BUT I've never seen Albert Belle... have you seen your guy? Is there a member here who hoards these things or is using a Belle as a pen holder or penny jar? Back in the day did people just toss them?

To be clear, I'm talking about the Tin BOXES, not the Tin PACKS.

I have never seen a Belle and I have collected these things for years. Then again it is Albert/Joey Belle So chances are many may have been tossed

Some are hard to find in football also, especially the tins the tins came in.

I imagine print numbers are correct though. Most people don't want to list big bulky items that are not worth much. Also, like all tins, over time they tend get minor damage to them. Most of these are likely slowly being thrown away.

In a almost related note, I have like 25 unopened pinnacle inside Mark McGwire cans....they are my retirement fund...lol. Figure they were like 3 bucks a pack then, and now the lot is worth maybe 10 bucks? The gold versions of these cans can be hard to find as well....and at least locally, they had stacks of the cans at gas stations.

^^That's funny... I have probably a half dozen unopened Belle cans and they're worth nearly nothing and not sure why I keep sealed but not sure there is anything in them rare to pull, so why not LOL.

As for the tins... I think you're right about the idea that who wants to sell a big bulky tin for a few bucks and it'll cost more to ship and is a pain in the a$$

He did not have one in 1998 but only in 1997 when it comes to the Tins. I have two large Gold Tins /299 but have never seen a Blue regular Tin. I have TONS of the pack tins... probably half dozen of each and some unopened ones.

You remember seeing it back in the day or recently? Man I'd love to locate one.
