Default Question for those that prospect and do BGS

Is it worthwhile to get base autos graded or just refractors and colored?

I have some highly regarded prospect base autos I was considering getting graded but I did not know if there is a significant increase in sell value, like there is with colored autos, to make it worthwhile.

Thanks

it depends on how much the card is worth.
if you get a $5 base auto graded, and it gets a 9.5 you can expect to double your money, but if grading is $10 you would loose money.

It depends on the prospect really. For instance Clint Frazier base 2013 chrome is around 70 now on eBay. A graded 9.5 BGS is $145......so it's worth the 10-20 grading fee/postage/insurance.....but for a lessor prospect who's base sells for $5 a 9.5 may only be $15......so with the fees and everything it's not worth it......hope it helps.

Thanks guys, right now I'm looking at a few CJ edwards, Walker, Zimmers.

Not sure whether I should get them graded or now. I know the Walkers were around $35-40 last season for the 9.5's.

Those would all be players that would be worthy of sending in. Just try to keep your grading fee per card as low as possible to make it worthwhile.

I'd send them in a group break instead of alone to keep fees down.
