Default Jim Lee impel X-Men Autograph Cards

Anyone ever come across a Jim Lee Gambit autograph card from this set? I know there were rumors of a Rogue and Imperial Guard to go along with the Cable, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, X-Men autograph cards that are most commonly seen.

I need to check my collection. I'm not sure if I have one from this series (X-Men Series I Impel 1992).

Check Jeff Allender checklist:

I was looking through my old cards and found a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants #78 card from this set, signed by Jim Lee in gold ink and number 26 of 100. I also have a card with a photo of him that is a cert of authenticity, numbered 0470 of 5000. Anyone else heard of this card?

It has been protected since I got it out of the box years ago. Anyone have any idea of it's value in the market?

Thanks!

Yeah, Jim signed a bunch of cards for a comic book store to sell back in the day. They are not pack inserted but are still pretty nice.

Hi, I'm new here and have a question. I know this is an old post, hope someone can answer a question.
I have and Jim Lee autographed card from this set of Shatterstar. I tried to find some information about it a few years ago and no one even knew it existed. An old business partner got it in a trade at Chicago Comic Con in 1993. It's been in a car protector since before we got it.
Anyway trying to get an idea of the value.

Is it hand numbered on the front?

No, it's embossed and autographed. I've attached a picture of the card.

Does anyone know how I can get a gambit or shatterstar or any of the more rare autographs?

There’s been several cards on eBay throughout the last 6 years that have the impel stamp and autograph that look authentic, but there’s no proof of them being part of the set. Kind of like the Rogue and imperial guard. Just off the top of my head you have the consistent X-men, Magneto, Storm, Cable and Wolverine. Now I have heard about the Rogue and Imperial Guard, but I have seen a Deadpool, Gambit, Shatterstar, and a few more that fit the description of them being legit packed pulled cards.

With all the inconsistencies, I wouldn’t bother with any of them outside the known 5 legit cards. I mean if you see one for cheap, yeah.....but several hundreds of dollars for a Shatterstar? You could get a ingraved stamp and press it your self for that....and that might be what someone did. Why else would it take all these years for them to pop up? Just my opinion until confirmation is made public.

Agree with you. I've tried to research these other embossed signed cards and there is very little information regarding them. Some rumours that they were intended for skybox employees etc. But It all smells fishy. I'd stick to the 5 official autos.
At least the comics x-press gold autograph cards are hand numbered and come with cert of authenticity and serial stamped number.

Stamp on this Gambit looks bogus.

I know I’m raising this from the dead but I was wondering if there is a history of any of the holos being autographed by Jim Lee? I had a Magneto holo that I believe was signed by him. It was given to be by my cousin and I have no idea where he got it from. I haven’t been able to find it for a while but I’m just trying to find some more information on it. I had no idea who Jim Lee was as a child. I assumed the autograph was a facsimile as well but now I see that may not be the case. Thanks!

Was it embossed? Maybe it was done at a convention or something after it was pulled from the pack.

I have zero clue. Like I said my cousin got it for me. We grew up in a small town in southern WV. There was a card shop at the time but I doubt he went to any conventions or anything like that. He was involved in a little bit of shady stuff growing up so I have no idea where it came from lol. I wouldn’t think it’s a forgery or anything like that though. I wish I could find it. It’s probably somewhere at my parents house though I’m sure it’s in rough shape. I always wanted to get it out and hold it when I was a kid.

You've been here 10 YEARS and these are your first two posts? Bumping a 7 year old thread. Weird, I guess this random recollection (not even having the card in hand) brought out the comments?

Jim Lee did sign some holograms as part of the comic x-press sealed set. He did not sign any for pack inserted holograms.
The plastic case came sealed with two gold foil comic x-press stickers and included a full 1-100 base set, 2 random base autograph cards in gold ink hand numbered /100, and possibility of a signed single hologram card in gold ink (not numbered). Also came with a certificate of authenticity card which had picture of Jim Lee on one side and serial number on other.

I don’t know what had me thinking about it today but started doing a little research and found this thread. I went to make an account and realized I’d made one years ago. Not a ton of information out there on these.

Well gents. I'll be tipping my hand on my 25 year collection of these autograph cards in the next week or two. I got my PSA submission back FINALLY..and I will be revealing the grades LIVE on youtube...Possibly on the Marvel Pack Fresh podcast. I do indeed have a few stamped autos that are outside of the 5 "primary" stamped auto cards.
