Default My fathers house burnt today. But thankfully...

My dads house burnt this morning and he nearly lost everything. The garage and part of the kitchen were the only undamaged parts. I lost a lot of my sneaker collection from the last 20 years, but one thing that was saved was a lot my baseball card collection. If you don't own one, please purchase a fireproof lockbox for your valuable cards. These were in the dining room and survived the whole ordeal. I'm 30 now but hasn't seen these in years. I'm VERY thankful my pops is ok, because that's all that matters. But when we found this box it made this whole day better. We took a stroll down memory lane this evening. Praise Jesus for great blessings.

Great to hear everyone is ok, even MJJ.

As a side note, take those cards OUT of those screwdowns NOW. I bought a huge collection with a bunch of them. If they were too tight or any moisture got in, it tore some of the paper right off the card. Seriously.

Those are beautiful cards. Put them in one-touch magnetic holders.

This is good advice. I nearly bought a Jordan from a dealer that was in the biggest screwdown case I've every seen. He said it had been in the case since 1990. I told him I'd only buy it if he took it out and it was still undamaged. He declined.

Gorgeous cards, but that is the least important thing in your post. Thank goodness your father is okay and good luck on the insurance process!
