Hey Guys!!! Phanos here!!!!!!
I know it has been some time but I am just doing a quick update to let you guys know what I have been up to and an update. I am still working on something to put into my contest as they seem to have been lack luster as of late.. would you guys like a new riddle contest with some silver/bronze age books? Also, I am almost out of my budget hurdle. I have been working hard on upgrading my wife wedding ring. I was in my early 20's when we got married and couldn't afford to buy her the ring I really wanted to get her. Now I have the means to do it and I am buying it in late May or early June. I will post pics of it :-) I upgraded the stone and added some flash to it. Also, that brings me to my issue. See guys, we will be working on having a baby soon so the wife said after my ring upgrade I need to focus on buying my key comics now while I have the disposable income to do so. So I am in the middle of this big deal with someone on cgc forum. But I am not sure if he will accept my offer as he is thinking it over. So like the joker, I like to have a plan b,c,d also. ![]() As my father taught me, a man must constantly have a plan....... My offer is X-factor #6 in nm condition, Sandman vertigo #1 in NM/VF condition, Silver Surfer #3 in VG condition and $1350.00 in cash/paypal. In June I would pay $100.00, July $250.00, and August $1000.00. All this for: Silver Surfer #1 CGC 7.0 Giant Size X-Men #1 CGC 8.5 So do you guys think this is a good deal? I think so and hope the guy goes for it. But in case he doesn't. Is there any fellow junkies out here who would like to do this deal with me if he doesn't? I have a good rep on here and I am a man of my word. Any help from my fellow junkies would be greatly appreciated. I welcome all comments and advice on the issues I stated! See ya Junkies!!!! ![]() Yeah I spend all of my money on my addiction. But at least if I am ever featured on hoarders or my addiction. There will be viewers watching that will be saying......... CHING$$$$ CHING$$$$$$ ![]() Phanos Last edited by Phanos; 04-28-2014 at 10:06 PM. |

so you're getting the silver surfer and GSXM right?
my personal opinion, you're overpaying. 90 day avg on GSXM #1 8.5 is $880. 90 day avg on SS #1 7.0 is $342. So you're paying around $125 more than that plus the trade stuff on top of that. those are both nice books for sure, but I do personally think you're giving up more than you need to for them. ultimately though, if you feel it is a good deal and you're happy with it that is all that really matters

Like Texans, I agree don't do it.
Giant Size is about a $800 book and the Silver Surfer is about a $300 book. That's $1100 and your willing to pay nearly $250 over that along with over $100 in trade. If you can offer the trade and $1000-$1100 i would say go for it. Either way do what you want to do and good luck. Last edited by Cisco69; 04-28-2014 at 11:09 PM. |

I on the other hand would do it. New Xmen movie coming soon. Plus, it's not like you are dropping all that cash at once. Little here little there and then boom...they're yours!
There's not too many peeps out there that would do a deal like this for those particular books. People usually want the cash all at once. Just my 2 cents. Then again, you asked. |

I agree, I'd hold off and try to find some better deals. Plus, you almost always get a better deal with cash in hand; that goes for anything not just comics.
