Default Does everyone like the look of 2014 Bowman?

It seems like everyone really likes this product. IMO it looks way worse than 2013, 2012, and 2011.

The cards just don't look right and the design is ugly, which has caused me to not buy any and won't even pick up singles.

Does anyone else think the design isn't up to par?

I originally didn't like the design in the mock ups, but the more I see of it I'm starting to like it. Some people just don't like change and I get that since it's pretty much been the same design for years now.

On a side note, what do people think about those Oversized Ice Autos? Like the purple Appel on eBay. I think they are a pretty cool addition.

I'm fine with the design but hate oversized. They don't ship well and they don't store well.

Overall I am going to say yes. I like it. My favorite part is how they put the foil team logo on the bottom center for paper, and in color for Chrome, glad they didn't just make it a black and white outline on the chrome cards, which would have been easier.

I would change the Bowman logo though and attach the "1" to the left side of it where needed. Make the "1" red or white...yeah, that would clean up the 1st Bowman cards a little.

Well it seems most are redemptions, so you just have to worry about how Topps plans on shipping it to you lol. That could be a disaster.

As far as storing them I guess that would be difficult. Do they make oversized sleeves? I know there are toploaders, but I'd want more protection than that.

I would prefer it a bit lower and wider towards the bottom outline

I think the design is great. Past years for me are a bit boring.

Don't like it as much as last year's...design seems somewhat antiquated.

I don't mind it but don't love it. They made it a lot harder to sort with the Vet papers having white backs as well. It was so much easier when the vets had gray backs and the borders aren't as defined

I love the design. I was so-so on it before opening, but I really like it.

I like the design of the vet and rookies better than the prospects. The border on the prospects is too big and weird.

I am getting a couple of boxes friday, but from scans I have seen I do not like the design. Even centered cards look off center to me.

I like the cards but as with some other sets the names are hard to read particularly on the prospects.

I like it very much. I rip Topps a lot, but I love that they brought back the old Bowman logo and the "1st Chrome Card" designation. I am, however, getting increasingly annoyed with the constant additions of pattern parallels in Bowman (i.e. orange waves) and Topps Chrome (i.e. camo, atomic)

The design is cool but I'm really liking all the met prospects in it.

That is totally true. It just looks like they tried too hard and wanted to do something different and totally flopped.

Couldn't agree more. A rainbow has gone from base, ref, blue, gold, orange, purple, red, super to all those and about 50 other parallels lol. Its made most parallels worth pennies.

My 2013 Topps Chrome rainbow of Rendon consists of Super, Pink, Camo, Atomic, Red, Black w/ Silver Ink, Gold, Sepia, Black, Blue, Ref, and base. And I guarantee 2014 Topps Chrome adds at least one more stupid pattern and probably another color to that.

I really like the base/RC design, but the prospect design doesn't even jive with the whole "golden ratio" thing. the paper versions feel like a lot of white to me...but the change to "chrome-under-white" for the BCPs is tight.

I am genuinely so sick of the minis. so sick. don't even care that I got a numbered one. these guys have like 14 prospect cards in the world since 2011and have not cracked AAA.

True, but people will complain no matter how it looks.

reminds me of 2007, 2009 and 2010 topps
2009 bowman and other ass-like sets of the type.
I really do like the squared-up feel of the vets and RCs

They look fine to me. The rookie/veteran cards look a bit better, I think, since they don't have as heavy a design as the prospect cards. I figure it takes a significant amount of photoshop on the prospects to get them into MLB uniforms, they end up trying to cover up advertisement-prominent backgrounds with borders and whatnot.
