Default There are some brave people making and selling fake cards! Check this out.

Here's a fake card that was created by someone other than the card manufacturer and is being sold on ebay:

JOEY LOGANO 2009 SPORT KINGS SHEET METAL GOLD EDITION - eBay (item 200480186888 end time Jun-13-10 19:27:57 PDT)

The entire card is fake. The memorabilia is probably fake. The guy has never even been on any checklist of this company.

How much trouble could someone get into for trying to pull something like this? It would be much easier to prove this card is fake as apposed to a piece of fake memorabilia that was inserted into a real card. This card isn't even real. LOL

Why would someone go through the trouble? The card, personality, and memorabilia in it are just so-so, nothing worth faking IMO. Maybe it was an internal quality control card that never made it to production? You need to ask Dr. Price himself.

Default Not a fake

The card isn't a fake, it's made by Sportkings which is run by Dr. Price, the same guy who does In The Game trading cards. Google them and look for yourself.

Is it me or does the sheet metal look like it is placed on the card?

Oh ya, Matt - play nice.

The listing for the fake card has been taken down. It was definitely fake and not some internal quality control card that never made it to production. That's what sucks about fraudulent card makers, they confuse people in this hobby.

Per everyone's request, I'll take it easy on you.

Dr. Price did not make this card. He did not ask for the card to be made. None of his companies made this card. I don't need to Google ITG or Dr. Price to know what I'm talking about concerning this issue.

Believe me, I understand why you think it's not fake, and I don't blame you. It's an honest mistake on your part. As I mentioned above, that's what sucks about people creating these fake cards. It confuses people in this hobby. Had someone won that card, they would have ended up paying for a worthless piece of cardboard with probably a worthless piece of sheet metal in it.

I'm still confused why someone would fake THAT card.......

It's equal to if I made a Milton Bradley version........Who would buy it to begin with?

I guess Logano is a big name in racing right now. If it only cost a few pennies to make the card, and it sells for at least a few dollars, that's apparently a good enough return on investment for someone to do it.
