Default What condition do you think my comic is in?

So back in the day, early 90's, I had bought a uncanny xmen comic. It had wolverine on the cover, my favorite character, and so it was my "prized" comic, so I made sure to keep it in a bag and board.

Now, about 25 years later, I've gotten back into comics, and am sure that this comic is still in my cupboard at my parents house. It sat for about 25 years inside a regular poly bag. I've been reading lately that these bags start messing things up over time. What condition do you think my comic is in? It was never CGC or anything, but it was normal "like new" condition. Do you think it will be visibly messed up now because of the bag?

The comic itself is from 1986, issue 211, so I have no clue how it was stored for the 5 or so years before I bought it. I'd assume poly bag too.

lol, wylin!

What I"m saying is that I have a comic half way across the country at my parents house that has been inside a polybag for about 25 years. I have never seen it or looked at it since back then I lost interest in comics, but recently got back into it. Since I heard poly bags ruin comics do you think when I eventually go back and check my comic out, what kinda condition will it be in? What kinda damage can I expect that the poly bag did to it?

In a nutshell, if one were to leave a comic inside a polybag for 25 years, what kind of condition can they expect it to be in, what kind of damage would it have undergone due to the bag and how significant? I don't know, I've been hearing that polybags release gases that damage comics and should be switched out every 3-4 years, maybe I"m being mislead...?
