Before we get into this back and forth about smoking pot vs. the Ray Rice suspension blah blah blah...keep in mind, Gordon was warned this would happen and still got caught. Yes, smoking pot shouldn't equal a greater suspension than beating your wife, but if you are dumb enough to keep doing it when you know you can't and you know you are getting tested for it weekly, then yes the punishment fits the crime.

This isn't a shock - it's disappointing to Browns fans - but it's not as if people weren't preparing. The longer it went the more people were saying "0 or 16" because Gordon said he wasn't trying to get a reduced suspension - he was trying to get the entire thing thrown out.

Most (including myself) that thought it might get reduced still assumed you were looking at 6-8 games - but that's not the way they went apparently.

At the end of the day the drug policy is so F'd up beyond belief it isn't even funny - but that's a CBA issue - Gordon still got popped. His own fault.

I don't think he misses TC next year - if he stays clean they'll let him back after the 2014 season - but that's 9 months away from even worrying about.

Josh Gordon was arguably one of the most exciting players from the 2012 class. I'd put only Justin Blackmon and Alshon Jeffrey on top of his name on the list. This suspension's not gonna help Gordon. It's only gonna give him more time and excuse to smoke more pot. They should at least be able to place him on the practice squad so he'll remain disciplined throughout the year.

just because you just KEEP on posting this and know where it will lead. lets talk about the fines I read the seahawks got tossed at them for cheating at practice. who does that? oh yeah a coach with a history of cheating at the college level.

It's already been stated they will re-evaluate after the 2014 season - if you assume that Gordon gets popped again then that's fine. If he stays clean I'd imagine they'll let him go through TC. It's moot for 9 months as I said.

I'm going to smoke you in the bet now that Tate is going to carry the ball 25 times a game. This only hurts you in terms of the wager. The bet was for such low level yardage that he can fall forward enough to let me win.

So really it is a 1 year and 8 months ban. The NFL was aware of the test 8 months ago, and now they make their final decision. All the work he did this offseason doesn't mean anything because he can't play, and he will miss all of the team activities until 8/27/2015. Talk about getting screwed over pretty hard.

And then the Browns get screwed over as well. NFL took forever so it hindered the Browns draft and Free Agency. Then they took forever on the appeal so backups lost out on 1st team reps during practice. Now Hoyer/Manziel will have even less chemistry with the WR's they have on the field.

I hope he sues the crap out of the league.

not sure if i'm confusing the drug testing for other sports but since he's a repeat violator, isn't he going to be tested almost every other month plus surprises tests? if he continues to fail tests i'm assuming he's going to get the big ol boot.
