Regardless of my opinion on the actual issue...

The FCC is pure, absolute garbage. Same with the MPAA and RIAA. Stop "protecting us" from our entertainment.

Any sports broadcaster that refuses to say redskins in my mind is just a pussy. NFL has been around for how man years? Only just now it is offense? I think it is just more of the trendy moral thing to stand up for. Bull. Hope Snyder never changes that name. NEVER!

I don't like the trendiness of the cause either, but...

Pretty much anything that is considered offensive/immoral now, started off as being "normal." It takes time for something to become offensive. Racism, sexism, opiate usage...it always takes time for someone to make a stand.

I'm half Asian, half White and I've been called a four-letter slur for Vietnamese people numerous times. Huh? My Asian side is much more Chinese than Vietnamese anyway...but during the Vietnam War, the slur became popularized. Am I okay with it now? No. Would the Yellowskins be an adequate team name? No.

first thing that popped into my head.
i just dont understand how this stuff constantly is brought up, goes away for a few years, then comes up again. y r the redskins targeted when theres so many other major sports teams and collegiate with "derogatory" mascots.

I hope this name gets changed as soon as possible. It's going to be changed eventually anyways, so I'd rather just get it out of the way now so I don't have to keep hearing about it. If blacks or gays were offended, this would have been changed within 24 hours of it becoming a story. But for some reason only certain groups of people are important to not offend and others are ignored.

A redskin is the scalped head of an indian..so yeah. Go call a native American a redskin to their face. Although they are probably more used to being called racist names then most so they'll just shake it off and walk the other way.
