Default Ringside Boxing Dud

Check out eBay item # 300439507817

Again, I know a few people on here love the product, but after opening my case I became bored with the 2 per box $20 autographs and a cheap event worn swatch.
The above isnt my card but its a solid example of how even the best cards in this product arent in demand. This thread isnt meant to offend people, just simply point out this stuff isnt as strong as people like to think.

Doubt that McNuggets. The ALI autos out of this stuff are dropping like Cbo with the F bombs!

Careful captain you know how the regime can get around here. McBambam I never said anything about the Ali. The Ali and Tyson are the ONLY two guys in this product who have autos that bring over $100, aside from a cut. Seeing a 1/1 case hit type Moniker bring $18 from a 2k case doesnt say much for demand.

I would buy a piece like that for more than $20 in a heartbeat, you should have posted the link earlier!

I keep saying this exact thing...people don't know to look for some of this stuff.

I bought a pretty nice cut auto on ebay the other day, and had the link not been posted in this forum, I would have never seen it. Just think if I wasn't in this forum between the time the link was posted and the auction ended, (which is the case for the majority of the collecting world), I wouldn't have known about the card in order to bid on it. Obviously, it would have sold for less. I bid more for the card than it sold for, so also think about what if other collectors would have stumbled across that auction and outbid me? The card would have sold for more.

Just because a card doesn't bring as much money as you think it should on ebay, doesn't mean a particular card and/or product is a dud. It might mean that, but it also might mean the seller did a poor job selling the card. I have said it before and will say it again, ebay is NOT the only place to sell cards, and in a lot of cases, it's not even close to the best.

The VAST majority of the cards in my collection were not obtained from ebay. In fact, I sincerely doubt that 5% of my collection came from ebay.

I also would not call this a dud. Just because a card set is not a money maker to flip, doesn't mean that it is a dud. I had zero boxing cards in my PC before this came out and will buy up star autos all day between $20-$40. I am also going after a Frazier auto which have been going around $70-$75 so that I can start my collection. Isn't that what this set is about? Getting people who have never before collected boxing cards into the hobby?

I feel sorry for those of you that are losing a ton of money trying to flip this stuff.....but for those of us buying, it is a nicely done set that is very affordable.

I had a wedding that day, and I couldn't get back to the computer in time to reply. Sad part is, it sold for $16 more than I offered him.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't win it. I honestly thought you were the winner. That's a good card to own. Perhaps it will be re-listed in the near future. That happens a lot.

Sorry for your loss, but its comes to show when you buy a product who inserts a person closely involved with one of the biggest forging rings ever you get what you get. I hope they had Chuck Wepner sign for free considering all the ali fans he stole from back in the day selling fake alis from the operation bullpen ring that he claimed to have mailed to ali directly.

What a dumb comment. Do you honestly think Ringside Boxing included this guy because of the forging ring? Or do you think they included him because of what he did in the physical "boxing" ring?

It never ceases to amaze me how much jealousy there is in the world. Obviously people like this product, both collectors and box breakers alike, because they have both said so in writing, in this forum.

Not everyone likes any given product. That's obvious and is a fact. But for those that don't like a product and express their opinion, they should at least say something more relevant than the comment above. What a joke of a comment.

I did not realize he was in the product. I'm not going to get involved in this, if it turns into a pissing contest - however I would just like to state my opinion.

I don't think Mr. Wepner should have been in any product. I understand they wre trying to build a checklist of big name boxers and what not, but I don't think he should have been in this set. To me, I think having your card made and something of that nature is a reward - and he is not deserving for what he did do the people of the boxing community. To be in the same boxing set as Ali, the man who he was most infamous for counterfeiting? I dont know, just not something I would like. But that is my opinion - and I still like my rainbow!

You still like your rainbow. I'm assuming that you also like the product then. Therefore including Wepner in this product doesn't make the product itself any less appealing to you.

Just because Wepner did something he shouldn't have done, and then ends up being in a card product for his efforts in a boxing ring shouldn't take away from the rest of the product and all the players in it. That's the point I'm trying to make, and I think you agree with me. Of course it's okay if you don't though.

It's not that it takes away. I just don't think he should be rewarded with his actions. I do enjoy picking up the singles (I still will). I'm not a huge boxing fan, but I like certain boxers from the 50's and earlier. I pure vintage!

So I'm not sure if I agree 100%, but I think I agree sort of. I just think the set would have been fine with out him.

you're the guy who has the lamotta rainbow? do you think lamotta belongs in this set after throwing a fight? to me throwing a fight is cheating, and cheating in professional sports is a disgrace. and this action is alot worse than what wepner did

Didn't read the part where I am not a huge boxing fan?

Just so were clear, I actually didn't know. I really don't follow boxing at all. I just know who the greats were.

Also, how do you feel about Joe Jackson and Pete Rose?
