Default CM Punk coming to Marvel

I think this is really awesome. He will have a story in the Thor Annual coming out in Feb 2015. It also sounds like he will be working on a future title. Here is the article

Welcome to Marvel, CM Punk - Hope You Survive the Experience | News | Marvel.com

Is anyone else excited?

Yes, this book will be hot. You'll have the entire WWE universe going after it on top of regular Thor fans.

He quit. They begged him to come back for 'Mania and he told them "no." So funny.

I actually used to be friends with him several years ago. He is a really good guy. He has no problem voicing his feelings if you will but you always knew where you stood. As far as the comic book part of the story, dude kills it at everything he does. I'm excited for it

Default CM Punk

It'll be interesting to read his take on Thor in the annual. Curious to see how the "Marvel Method" of storytelling will serve him in this new endeavor.

What are his credentials other than being a celebrity? I'd much rather hear that an accomplished author was joining Marvel. It's possibly no better than reading that Kim Kardashian has signed to draw Spider-Man. If CM Punk is a fan that's great and fun, but can he write an intriguing script? I wish him well and hope his success is based on his ability over his celebrity.

Well said. Is this a first in Marvel history. If not, have others succeeded?

IMO they are the following.
1. He's a lifetime comic book reader and has many artist and writer friends in the industry.
2. Not only did Marvel like the idea they put him and a artist together.
3. He's wrote / delivered stories weekly for years working in the WWE on RAW and Smackdown not to mention pay per view events drawing millions of fans worldwide.
4. He's worn tights in a ring and put on a persona - kinda makes him closer to a comic book than any of us.
