Default 2014-15 prizm "prizm" base rcs

Are these the new topps chrome refractors? The price spike on these base prizm RCs have been nuts. You coulda bought a wiggins for less then $10 and a parked for $2-3 even a month ago. Now the wiggins is goin for over $100 and the parker consistently $15+ Im starting to think I shoulda put money on these and not the autos. Anyhow is this just some crazy trend atm that's going to die down, or are these the new topps chrome refractors? Anyone knows how SP there are?

prizm prizm is the refractor version. Not the colored mosaics.

Yep nor the photo variation prizms either. Do you have any idea how short printed they are? By recent sales it seems they are selling better then the /49 light blue version for the wiggins

That is just market manipulation. I pulled 5 of them in 18 hobby cases. They may be a tad more short printed than the mosaics, but that's it. That goes for ALL of the base refractors/prizms, not just Wiggins.

I pulled 3 Wiggins Mosaic's, but not a prizm prizm.

I really could not tell you off the top of my head. I sold everything for the most part last month. Again, just figure the base prizms are a "tad" more rare than than the mosaics. Everyone seems to think there are tons of mosaics, but we all forget there are 2 different variations as well of them.

I don't think it's market manipulation at all. I think it's just the nature of the beast. Panini saturated the market with parallels to the point it's a bit redundant. It seems as though the traditional colorways from the inaugural Prizm release (Prizm/green/gold) are the variations most sought after by the greatest number of collectors and thus, they command a premium above and beyond the mosaics and photo variations.

Side note, I also think the Light Blue/49 that went for $50 the other night was a steal based on his recent prices. Card could easily pull $75-100 right now.

No.. I was after that card lol the #1/49 went for over $200 and #2/49 for $80+. I was hoping I can get for $50 lol. Which is crazy bc the prizm prizm is over $100 constantly from what I see but the /49 went for less then $100....

That's what I am getting at ...the card was listed for less than an hour and was gone at $50. You hope you can get one for $50 and I hope I can too, but the way it is going I do not believe you can buy the Light Blue/49 for $50 right now at open auction. I think that ship has sailed.

5 rcs in a case=pretty rare to me
comparing it to the red /49 right? That would make a print run of 200 for the refractors...I guess more though because they are not hobby exclusive right? So maybe what 4-500 print run for rookie refractors? No terribly limited but pretty comparable to topps chrome refractors no?

So 20% of the base ref were rookies.... what seems so scarce about that and if you still want to believe they are that scarce... I pulled a Wiggins base refractor and I am now on my 3rd case.

They're in retail, but they're a tough pull from the few blaster break videos I've seen. I'm not sure retail has a very big print run compared to hobby and jumbo. I'd guess closer to 250-300 exist per player. Interestingly people seem to really value them a lot more than the purple and the orange.

well scarce is a relative term.. With this new info I am saying the total print run is 500 or less. Not terribly scarce in the grand scheme of things but at $15 for the Jabari undervalued I think... The wigs are probably about where they should be. Are you saying 5 rcs per case is not at all scarce?

Congrats on the wigs that is a sweet card IMO and I would be interested at a good price.

Oh I think I know what you were referring to...yes it appears I was wrong that the Rcs were SPed compared to the Base and yes they are probably not as rare as I had originally thought but I was right about them being quite abit more rare than the mosaic. Surprising to me that you got just as many SPs as refractors...though maybe this is the benefit of buying hobby over jumbo..Maybe that is it as ^^^ said refractors might be a lot tougher out of jumbo and retail and lots of sp and mosaic come out of these. Def confusing/intriguing and an interesting debate to me but I am easily confused. haha
