New Images Shed Additional Light on 2010 Topps UFC

In April we provided the excited first glimpses of 2010 Topps UFC, the company’s fourth stand-alone UFC trading card product due out later this summer. Back then, we told you that the set would release in late August featuring the industry’s first fight-worn fist tape cards, MMA’s first book cards and dual-signed cards featuring autographs from Dana White and some of the UFC’s all-time greats.

The good news: All of those things remain true about the release now, just weeks from launch.

The better news: Topps officials confirmed today that the product also will include on-card autographs from the fighters and coaches (Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz) from Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter 11” reality show, won by Court McGee.

In light of Saturday’s heavily anticipated UFC 117 showdown between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and the torrentially trash-talking — and highly entertaining — Chael Sonnen, we figured now was as good a time as any to provide another must-see gallery from a product — and a brand — that seems to improve every time it enters the Octagon.

I guess the big question will be... Are the TUF cards going to be extra hits like series 2 or part of the 2 autos per box?
I really liked busting series 2 because on 2/3 of the boxes you got an extra hit. The only reason it concerns me is because a lot of the Ultimate Fighter autos do not sell for crap. If you get an Auto of a guy that lost his first fight and will never be in UFC you are getting screwed.

Just locked in for 5 cases. I think for the price I can bust a couple adn keep the others sealed and do well. Hope they average more than 2 autos per with the announcement of the TUF Autos.

i will be visiting the topps booth for sure in boston ufc expo . if any of you have any questions you want me to ask let me know . they will have boxes there too . im guessing the official release will be the week after. i may get a couple of boxes if the price is right.

Would be nice to see a early break of the stuff to get an idea.

well with UFC knockout announced does this mean buying and making money on a case of this product will be tough?

I had no idea this was coming out. The only thing that I can see that will help series 4 is that Knockout says it will include coaches and fighters from TUF 12. Hopefully that means it will release late in the year or early next year. That will allow a few months for series 4 to sell.
I am not happy they announced its release before UFC 4 has even come out yet. I am hoping some of the first timers autos and parallels will help series 4 sell. I ordered 5 cases and hope I don't regret it. I figured at $62.50 a box it would not be too hard to at least break even with a chance at some bigger hits.
I guess we will see.

I just got word back from Topps b/c I was curious as well. The TUF auto's will be extra hits.

That is incredible news!! I was starting to get worried because a bunch of the TUF Autos will be $2 cards.

Is anyone excited about this products release besides me?
I am hoping with some of the first time signers and the Dana White Duals that there are going to be some bigger $ hits mixed in. For the price point I think that it is going to be a fun break and should (fingers crossed) be at least a break even or money maker.
Thoughts?
