Default Is now a good time to buy Durant cards?

I am thinking add a Durant's rookie card to my PC, but I really don't know much about his cards. Anyway, is now a good time to buy his cards?

If its for the pc, sure. If not, no. I have a feeling his production will go down now that he's playing next to a legitimate mvp threat. And I sure as hell doubt Westbrook will feel 'fine' deferring to Durant now that his confidence is at an all time high.

I am glad that I didn't buy any of his cards last year.

He is at the point of his career where he should be hitting his prime. At year 8 he is going to need to prove that he can come back from injury. He then needs to prove that he can be "the guy" and not another Carmelo Anthony.

I wouldn't touch his stuff, but that is because I don't think he can win a championship in OKC. I think he will end up playing with Wall in Washington, and not do much out there either. Westbrook is the OKC player to buy.

Because they are such a huge market when it comes to sports cards? OKC fans are nuts, Washington fans seem more casual to me.

You guys really think him moving to a different team is going to drastically affect the price of his rookie card ? so much speculation by all of us but it's hard to just predict he will never win a championship or that his production is set to go down. His cards are so much cheaper then they were at his peak. Can they still go down? Sure, but they can easily go up and him changing teams or staying put won't make a difference to the price of his rookie card imo.

It will have an impact though. If he changes teams and doesn't win he could see prices drop like Melo did. The thing about Durant is that he is the first face of the OKC franchise. He made that team what it is today. If he jumped ship to go to another team, he will lose a good portion of his collector market. And then if he went home to Washington D.C. he would join a team that has a "face of the franchise" and would be the 1b.

Changing teams is not always a good thing when it comes to the hobby. It usually only has a positive impact when a player goes from a small market to a big market (in terms of collecting). So it boils down to, do you think that Durant + Wall + Gortat + Beal can win a championship(s)? Assuming that is where he ends up.

It really depends on what kind of collector you are. If you enjoying watching Kevin Durant play Basketball ( and he is a hack of a Basketballplayer) or if you only want to gamble to make money. KD is one of the best Player ever played this game and titel or not he will be in the hall of fame.
I guess he will have a strong come back. It's money time for him. His contracts and endorsment deals etc. he better be back strong

Thanks for the suggestions! By the way, which one of his rookie auto cards is worth to collect? UD Black /99 or SP Authentic /299?

Why exactly? That's just a lazy comparison.

He's absolutely nothing like Vince Carter. That's flat out insane.

As far as TMAC I assume you're talking coming off an injury?

The future for Durant cards are definitely depends on his performance next year. Tracy McGrady never led his team pass first round of playoff, even he teamed up with Yao in Rockets, and he never won a MVP award. He was a good scoring machine, but that was all. Vince Carter in my opinion was more a team player than Tracy McGrady.

By the way, Curry is absolutely one of the bests players in the league today, but he was really lucky this year that the Warriors won the title when two of their biggest competitor teams lost key players. If Durant stayed healthy, do you think Warriors will pass Thunder easily? Even if Warriors did passed the Thunder, I don't think they were strong enough to beat the 100% Cavs if Kyrie and Love didn't went out.

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are two of bests on the planet, but I think Kevin Durant is simply the better one. There are numbers of players have the same ability or equally skills as Curry, like Kyrie, CP3, Wall, Westbrooks... but there aren't many guys can compare with Kevin Durant. You just don't find that many players with that size and skills combined.

Kevin Garnett redefined the definition of power forwards; LeBron James and Kevin Durant are the guys that made small forwards not "small" anymore.

He won't have a choice though, Durant is clearly the best player on that team when healthy. Westbrook's emergence just makes them more dangerous but they can't win without Durant being their #1.

In any event, if Durant is back to form 25+ a game and they are winning his cards will get a slight bump, don't expect anything crazy though.

More in terms of the hobby, not as a player. Carter and t-Mac were two of the most sought after players for their time, but they never won any championships that really cemented their legacies. My opinion is durants window with the thunder has past. Thus still a great player, but will probably never be the greatest.

Curry is one of the greatest shooters of all time and led the warriors to the championship. My opinion his cards should be worth more.

Durant's an MVP who's been to the Finals. Those other guys like Carter/T-Mac aren't even close.

Curry has to continue to prove his ankles will hold up. He's had way more foot/ankle surgeries than Durant has.

Obvs Durant has to come back healthy.
