With the success of HOT BOOK ALERT!, thought I'd start a thread capturing all the latest comic TV AND MOVIE announcements. Here we go!

SpoilerTV has learned that The CW is planning a separate Hawkgirl TV series starring Ciara Renée. The project is currently in very early stages of development. If The CW decides to move forward with it, it will most likely bypass the pilot stage and get a straight to series order.

It is unclear if the series will be set before or after the events of The CW's upcoming TV series Legends of Tomorrow, which also stars Ciara Renée.

I have also heard, that abc/cbs/nbc/cw/fox have optioned all the comics put out by marvel, dc,image,dark horse for shows, since they have no more original ideas..Hawkgirl really? If they want to do a female empowerment show pick a wonder woman, or someone powerful. Hawk girl is a tier 2 or 3 super hero. Or I know this is probably just me, how about the comic book writers focus on decent storylines for awhile, instead of releasing 29 new comics in 6 months..Hellheim story was good, its gone, Nowhere Men, Happy, Bedlam, what the heck..work on the ones you got instead of jumping on board something else..I love the tv shows, but would love even better a great story, that doesn't involve killing off, or re-designing the entire universes..

I hate to agree with one of the comments on that link, but the only character I can think of for her (unless they race/gender swap) would be Monica Rambeau. Unless there is another Avenger possibility I'm missing here... maybe Jocasta? With that easter-egg in Avengers 2 there is some possibility of that character showing up in the near future. Very slim one though.

Honestly the roles she's played haven't been anything special. She has star power so she will pull in audience to the movie. Unless the part has some sort of musical part to it though there are other black actresses out there who would cost less and do a better job. It's not like Marvel movies need more star power. In the Avengers you've got RDJ, Jeremy Renner, Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scar Jo, Mark Ruffalo. They are probably going with the more women and also adding diversity to the cast. Like I said though there are other black acresses who could fill that role. I just want the Marvel movies to be about substance over star power.

FYI: We Can Never Go Home #1 - This comic is being pitched as a movie. It's a mini-series, and has no deal yet, but don't be surprised to hear that it got picked up soon. It's a solid story, small print run, and you might want to pick up a few and stick them away.

Secret Warriors Officially Coming To Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3

Mentioned this in another thread. But if they hold true to the series, the following books might see some juice: Secret Warriors #4; Ares #1 & Mighty Avengers #13

There is a kinda rare 2nd printing variant for Mighty Avengers #13 which introduces a majority of Daisy's the team. It looks like this.

I don't think people should be sleeping on this one if this turns out true. How often does a looked over silver age series, that is STUPID CHEAP, become relevant overnight? Thunder Agents #1 has 1st appearances of majority of the team and it came out in 1965. We all scram to find copper/modern books of 1st appearances when announcements hit the web; here is a silver book probably sitting in the cheap bins. Just my 2 cents.

It will be interesting to see if this pans out though...I mean, Thunder Agents? I need to read this series...
