Default Manny Being Manny in Chicago??

Looks like it will happen today. Dodgers expected to place him on waivers and then the Sox are going to pick him up with the intent to sign him to play. Not a bad DH for the Sox.

Oh this came from ESPN....

As a Dodger fan...not a big loss...ironically, since his suspension last year, his power numbers are gone and he has been injured all year. Not that he is the only reason the Dodgers suck this year...but he hasn't helped much either. Hope he tries harder for Ozzie.

As a Dodgers fan, i remember the drama of the trade deadline deal that brought him here. It brought a lot of promise at the time....didn't pan out that way. Too bad the Dodgers are out, either way I don't think Manny would have helped them. Hopefully the Dodgers at least get a so so prospect

Manny was an awesome hitter in his time. Too bad he didn't have a better attitude as LA fans loved him at first. He had a ton of talent and zero love for the game. He is washed up and he just needs to fade away into the sunset.

He's gotta first get past every team ahead of the Chisox before anything else

Not sure if they will get much of a prospect...or just ask Chicago...or whoever..to take the rest of his salary...you know how it is in LA now...its like MLB divorce court. I just hope they get a new owner sooner than later. Come on Mark Cuban!

kurkjian doesn't see any NL team claiming him from waivers and AL wise no teams are ahead of them in waivers that should claim him.

Most likely there will not prospects in the trade. Just them picking up the tab. As a dodgers fan I'm glad to see him go. Never really understood why the fans loved him so much. I think having Manny around help make Matt Kemp get the ego he has today.

Really? I was blaming Rihanna . I think Dodgers fans were just happy to finally be involved with a "big" acquisition. I mean for all the money that the franchise makes you would think they would be key players in most trades/signings, but they are run like a middle market team. Oswalt, Lee (just off the top of my head) the Dodgers should have made a play at one or both of those guys....but they didn't. It's been like that for years. Name the last Star the Dodgers had. Name the last big trade they had. Name the last Ace they acquired...power hitter. The Dodgers get guys on the tail ends of their careers....Andruw Jones, Ricky Henderson, Maddux (who was great), Manny, McGriff,..... but i'll still be there Opening Day next year. How pathetic lol

Couldn't have said it better myself. The problem with them making a bigger name trade is there's not a lot left in the system after the last couple seasons. The best bet is for them to actually spend some money this offseason on a player thats not on his way out. After years of not holding on to players they finally have a good core to build from. Here is to them hopefully making some good moves this offseason.

I have not heard if this has been finalized, but it certainly sounded like it was a lock last night...

what happens if no one picks him up ? i hope no interest is shown . this guy doesnt deserve to play . he is a trouble maker. hes not as good as he used to be , they need to make a example out of trouble maker athletes like this .

Then he stays with the Dodgers...it's not like he was DFA'ed.

somebody will claim him. His bat and a half ass attitude from him can make a difference. if he is happy (can't imagine that) he could be scary good. Manny is just lazy plain and simple.

im sure there are things that go on behind the scenes that we dont know about . things that a organization does that upsets a athlete . if i go into work one day and i get upset about something and say to myself . ok damn it , im only going to give 50 percent today becasue im angry . im sure we have felt this way at some point .

but this guy is doing it on a much bigger scale . making millions , people coming to the ball park to see him . then he fakes injuries , shoves a traveling secretary which was over 60 i beleive . what is wrong with this guy ? this type of behavior is just crazy .
