Default 1st Draft of the season...

Had the 3rd overall pick. PPR League

QBAndrew Luck, Ind QB
RBAdrian Peterson, Min RB
RBJonathan Stewart, Car RB
WRT.Y. Hilton, Ind WR
WRSammy Watkins, Buf WR
TEMartellus Bennett, Chi TE
FLEXAlfred Blue, Hou RB
FLEXIsaiah Crowell, Cle RB
D/STSeahawks D/ST D/ST
KAdam Vinatieri, Ind K
BenchTom Brady, NE QB
BenchJonas Gray, NE RB
BenchSteve Smith Sr., Bal WR
BenchDeVante Parker, Mia WR
BenchJerick McKinnon, Min RB
BenchCharles Clay, Buf TE

Overall I don't think I did too bad. RB's outside of AP are in the bottom half since I waited to pick more up after I got some other positions. Had to pick up McKinnon just in case the AP situation didn't pan out. I picked up Brady for the main purpose of putting him on the trade block after he comes back from his time off to hopefully grab whatever I'm lacking in other areas after the first few games.

Thoughts?

Im guessing you went blue/Crowell at 7/8 and I don't really like that. Blue is only the starter until Foster returns, and may not be effective even if he gets a full workload. Crowell is okay there, but Once you took blue, I would have gone WR for your last flex. You're lacking a lot of depth there, and in PPR, this rosters weekly upside will be capped outside of Luck and AP. I also would not have bothered taking Brady to back up Luck. That's another spot that could have been used to build your WR depth.

But getting AP at 3 overall and Luck in the third gives you a pretty good foundation to build on.

Yeah Im lacking major depth at WR. Its the gamble Im taking in this league. If Blue and Crowell take those starting positions by storm I could be looking at huge numbers per week but it could also go the other way too. Like I said Im going to use Brady as trade bait come week 5. One person in general has Rivers only at QB and no Backup so possibly going to work on that situation since Brady will be past his bye week when he is able to play..

Also forgot to add I picked up Clay in the final round. Couldnt pass that up and depending on the teams they are plaing he could even fill in one of the flex spots. So far out of camp he is the only one showing that he deserved that big contract

How many teams are in the league? I always feel, at least in my experiences, that trading a QB is much harder than you would think. As good as Brady is, in most standard scoring leagues he's only about 1 point per game better than guys like Eli, Tannehill, Romo, Rivers, and Ryan. Baring injury, it might be hard to move Brady unless there is someone out there starting someone like Newton or Kaep. You might be better off eventually trying to trade Luck and keeping Brady.

With it being a PPR you might struggle because none of your RBs really catch the ball. Peterson might be better at that this year but the other 3 might struggle to get to even 30 receptions.

I think you should absolutely take out one of those RBs in your flex and put Steve Smith in there. I think you'll get much more bang for your buck.

Not a winning team to me. Like some said, depth is an issue here. Blue and Crowell are not feasible starters esp. in a PPR. AP and Luck are good keepers though if this is a keeper.

Good luck this year.

I agree with this assessment. You'd get a whole lot more bang for your buck by trading Luck.

3rd overall pick in how many person league? I can't imagine it being a whole bunch of people in order to pull off the Andrew Luck/Adrian Peterson duo.

Also matters whom was picked in front of you to really determine if this draft was really worth a lick. Overall, I think this is a middle of the pack/bottom tier team. Your WR situation is going to eat you alive esp. considering this is PPR. I think you'll be surprised by how many targets Andre Johnson is going to scoop away from TY this year. On your other WR situation, you have an unknown QB throwing the ball around. Whom knows if it will be Cassel, EJ, or the other guy. Either way, not so sure I would have drafted any BUF WR with their QB situation.
