Default **Official TENNESSEE TITANS Season Thread 2015**

What was everyone's thought on the Titans and Mariota's performance? That was the most excited I've been since the MCM.

Yes, I understand the Bucs aren't the #1 team in the league but you have to consider a few things...

1. The Bucs are still an NFL Defense.
2. Mariota is still an NFL Rookie.
3. It was his DEBUT performance
4. He looked poised, relaxed, patient, and didn't make any poor decisions, like a seasoned vet.
5. He had a PERFECT passer rating!

Also, Bishop Sankey is looking better and had 2 TD's and Kendall Wright is emerging as a favorite target for Mariota.

Yes, there will be haters, blah blah, but there are a lot of things to be excited for (again) as a Titans fan!

I think we beat the Browns by at least 10 next week.

They looked good, gotta give them credit for that.

I think the trade for Terrance West was really underrated and will turn out to be a great backup for them.

I agree. Other than West's fumble...I thought he looked solid for only being with the team less than a week.

He's a bruising back and a great compliment to Sankey.

First game he looked good, but it was against the Bucs. Let's see what happens when he goes up against a competent coach and team. It doesn't look like he has his first real defensive test until week 5 against Buffalo.

You guys thinking what I'm thinking?

Titans vs Rams in the Superbowl AGAIN, both are playing like the old days.

Yes it was the Bucs, but the Titans were just as bad as the Bucs were last year and all offseason everyone was calling Winston more NFL ready. Winston just as easily could've/should've picked apart a mediocre at best Titans D, but didn't.

But yes, I agree, that will be the first true test against Buffalo. Glad we have a bye week before to prepare

If Winston played the Bucs D I think he would have had a better day. In the past 20 years Dick LeBeau is 21-2 against rookie QBs.

So far so good though for Mariota

Yeah I saw that stat too. Another reason I'm excited for this year!

Very underappreciated DC. Great mind and it is unfortunate that this is his last stop in the NFL most likely.

I'm thrilled. Getting rid of Andy Levitre might have been the best move the Titans made this year! Would have liked to seen more of DGB but I understand that he probably needs some time to get acclimated to the offense. Kendall Wright is Mariota's new version of Josh Huff, and he will have a BIG year IMO. Defense played very well. Casey lived in the backfield, loved the blitzes and coverage was pretty good as well. The thing I'm most impressed with is how well Whiz tailed this offense to fit Mariota's skills...coming in everybody talked about how Whiz was unwavering in his offensive philosophy but he did great and he will only add more from here.

The short version....I'm freakin pumped!!!

Kendall Wright is a #1 WR talent, and he just never had a solid QB to get him the ball. If the OL can give Mariota time to make is reads and gets the ball to KW this will be a great year for the Titans

Anyone think Sankey can get it together this year and be a true feature back?

I've always agreed with this ever since he came out of Baylor. He's had how many mediocre QB's throwing to him? Now he has Mariota and he fits his style. Pumped even more about KW's future now!

I've never been so excited watching a Titans game. It's got to be up there with Marino/Tarkenton's debut if not better.

I'm hoping so. Last year Titans didn't have a passing attack or a solid QB so it was easier for teams to focus on the run. Now they have to account for Mariota which should open up more opportunities for Sankey. He looked better, but hey so did West. Not too shabby for being on the team less than a week!

I mean he scored twice. He's not going to put up Lacy, Charles, Peterson numbers. Doesn't really need to. Plus it's RB by committee. What more do you need to see from him? He ran and caught the ball out of the backfield. Pretty versatile yesterday IMO. If he contributed like he did yesterday every week, that would be a boon for us.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing (especially in terms of buying his cheap contenders autos too). The guy looked good out there...

Mettenberger would have thrown for 6 TDS.

Ha! Please. Mariota has already won more games in THREE Quarters than Mett won ALL of last season...

The good thing about Mariota and Wright is he doesn't need perfect blocking to get him the ball. He will catch tons of slants and quick hitters so as long as Mariota is alive and can throw, Wright is valuable

Plus I believe if the staff was 100% sold on Andrews they may not have brought him in. Excited to see what West will do against his former team Sunday who traded him away

I'm inclined to argue against this point. I'm not sure if they're an NFL team.

They'd probably win some big Bowl games if you chucked them into the NCAA though. If they end up with next year's 1st overall pick, I say "demote" them.

Anyone else think the Titans can start off 2-0 at home against the Browns this weekend?

I do!
