Default Questions about two MJ auto (from MJ tribute products)

Does anyone know if the two cards below are inserted as live or redemption when the products are released?

1) Michael Jordan - A Living Legend: "A Sign of Greatness" autograph card (/50)
1998/99 UD Sign of Greatness Michael Jordan Auto /50 (12/25/2006)

2) MJx: MJx autograph card (/50)
1998 Upper Deck MJx Michael Jordan Autograph #A1 #22/50 (05/14/2011)

In addition, for the "A Sign of Greatness" autograph card, are they signed in black or blue ink when first released?

Thank you.

Pretty sure both are live cards. I can dig out some of my old beckett and see what's up. I will let you know later.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I recently acquired a box (not sealed) of each of the boxes listed in the OP. Any confirmation on the MJX or Living Legend live or redemption autos? Maybe we know more three years later? Maybe not...

Thanks for any help.

Gonna be that guy who bumps an old thread, but does anyone know for sure if the 98 UD MJx auto (/50) was live or redemption?

Not sure if it helps, but, Beckett states -

"The product also had Micheal Jordan autographs and game-used jersey cards randomly inserted into packs."

Thanks! I wonder if the plural “autographs” means the MJx serialed to 50 auto AND the 98 Game Jersey serialed to 23, or if it’s just the game jersey. So tough to figure it out.

The game jersey card is autographed, and should be live too if my memories serve.
It is the non-game jersey one that I am not sure about whether it is live or redemption.

(There are 6 cards for the game jersey one, with each card hand-numbered to 23 copies.
Each of these 6 cards is inserted in selected 1998 / 1998-99 Upper Deck products, i.e. each of these 6 products contain 23 copies.)

The MJx-specific game jersey autograph card (23 copies) should look like this:

Thanks! Yeah, I’m looking for info on the non-game jersey version. The card is crazy tough to find, which makes me wonder if it was a redemption.

This is the MJx auto:

I believe it was live in the boxes. The main reason for this is that I have never seen a redemption card on the market. Those usually find there way on the market via the backdoor of the company that redeemed them.

Anyone got a photo of that "A Sign of Greatness" card? From the '98 UD Living Legend boxes? I can't seem to find one, would love to see it.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Then again, the MJx auto /50 almost NEVER shows up on the open market, so I’m not sure if it’s a case of the redemption not surfacing because it’s tied to a card that’s basically a ghost. Picked up a box recently and was wondering if I should rip or hold.

If anyone is interested in a Jordan autograph on a piece of paper, with Charles Barkley, Chris Mullin, and Pooh Richardson (and comedian Sinbad, because...well, I was a teenager and that's what you do when getting autographs)...I'd be open to hearing offers for it (it's on a piece of paper that shows the line-up for a charity game)

Wow not quite what I imagined but still nice. Talk about a dream if you bought one of these boxes now a days and unearthed one of those.
