Rare Collegiate Variations Add Tough Chase to 2015 Gridiron Kings Football Base Set
Oct 6th 2015, 20:16, by Tracy Hackler ![]() As you’ve no doubt seen by now, tomorrow’s release of Panini America’s 2015 Gridiron Kings Football has plenty to offer fans and collectors who’ve been without the product for more than 10 years. Most of the brand staples that collectors coveted before and have come to expect — such as colorful cards that look more like works of art, Framed parallels and more — are back in a big way. But there’s at least one surprise element in the product that longtime Gridiron Kings devotees might not expect: College Variations in the base set. Ten of the NFL’s biggest superstars are pulling double duty within the 2015 Gridiron Kings Football base set by appearing in both their current NFL uniforms and in their college uniforms. And trust us when we tell you: The college variations are super tough, falling at a rate of roughly one every two cases. In the revealing sneak peek that follows, we showcase both cards for each of the 10 SP players: Dez Bryant, Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Odell Beckham, Jr., J.J. Watt, Peyton Manning, Julio Jones and Charles Woodson. Enjoy the sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2015 Gridiron Kings Football. ![]() |

Guess it depends on how many cases there were. If you could find out how many cases were made, divide that number by 2 (since they fall one every 2 cases), then by the number of players (if they were all produced at the same number), and you have how many were made

Great. More collegiate cards. Is it just me, or has Panini gone just a bit overboard with all the college stuff since they acquired the license? I mean, I like college cards, and college unis, but in Gridiron Kings? Doesn't make sense to me.

When you overpay as much as they did - and they overpaid A LOT for this license - you have to use it.

But if you don't like the cards, why would you care to have such a negative opinion? I see this 10-15 times a day on this site. Its like getting upset they make cards of the team you hate. We don't have to buy every card produced.

I don't think two preseason sets and a few variations in other sets is "overboard", but maybe that's just me.

I don't like college uniforms at all which sucks because the only release Gabe Jackson has been in from the Raiders was last years Bowman! What I am most looking forward to in this release is a Rod Woodson auto as a Raider (well at least according to the hits list on group break checklist)
