Default A Fun Kobe Mailday to Share

Kobe has been my favorite player (behind AI), but don't bother collecting him much with all the product he is in and competition from many collectors. I couldn't pass up the chance to pick this one up when I saw it. These 04-05 XL Jambalaya (silver version) are calculated to have around a 10 print run and a odds of 1:2160 packs, but not many sellers know the rarity. And they haven't been faked, so that's always good.

The seller had a BIN for this one and the regular version (1:216 packs) 04-05 E-XL, but he had the regular version about $100 more, so they were unaware as well.

Thinking about busting it out of the BGS case to match my AI.

And here's the fun part of the mailday. Many are critical of Panini and their generic wording of game used material, including me. I have blabbed about this to my fiance a time or two but never thought she paid any attention to my incoherent ramble. Showed her the "stat line" set awhile back and the authentication on the back that had the specific verbiage. Well she ended up bidding on this and won it without me knowing about it...

My first Kobe patch card. Looks to be part of the "4".

Pretty sure this is the most specific Panini has ever been on a card (Preferred Finals booklets are the same). Even the new Preferred Stat Line's do not state the players name. They keep this up and they might restore some faith in their game used memorabilia.

Kudos to Panini for letting the collector know the game it was worn.

Kobe played a solid game too, here's the highlights.

Thanks for looking.

Damn nice snag on that Jambalaya. I like the stat line patches too and am working on the 2013-14 set.

Glad to see u got it safely. I'm a kb collector so I definitely knew of its rarity. But Beckett has it booked at only 1.5x regular version, so it's worth maybe 600, so I think I did alright based on its bv and considering I picked it up for 200 back in the day but you also did alright if u base it on rarity, so we both made out good. Enjoy

Yeah I'll keep her around for a little longer. I was very surprised she even listened to my BS about wording on a piece of cardboard.

Yeah Panini would be way above UD and Topps to me if they did this. It brings a new element to a card when you can look at the exact game and see how the player performed.

Thanks! Yeah those Stat Lines would be an amazing set to put together. Hope you finish it. I am very surprised that any patch cards sell for more with the generic authenticity. Shows that people mostly buy cards for the brand.

Great seller, I will leave positive feedback soon! Yeah I figured there was more value left on the table, but I don't buy ANY cards to flip for profit. It's in a good new home and won't be leaving . Nice to see sellers not try to get every last penny out of a card. Thanks for the great deal and hope to work with you again in the future. Would love to see your Kobe collection if you don't mind sharing.
