Default Does Durant ever get back on top?

About 18 month ago the talk was that Durant had surpassed LeBron and it was now his league.

Fast forward to now and it's debatable whether or not he's even the alpha of his team, and he's hardly even mentioned as best player on the planet.

Does he ever get back to the point were people talk about the league being his?

Yeah, hes not even the best player on his team anymore.

I dont see it happening again unless he signs somewhere like LA next year and can stay healthy.

I do he's quietly putting up monster stats and he is efficient. He's still top 3 player in my opinion.

And how is he not better then Westbrook ?

KD- 27-8-4 while shooting 53% and 42% from three

Westbrook is 25-7-9 but he's shooting 46% and 30% from 3

I know who I would rather have.

Seriously. The talk about Westbrook being better than KD is a joke. Durant doesn't have the highest basketball IQ but compared to Westbrook, he looks like Einstein.

Durant is definitely the best player on his team and a top 10 player in the league, arguably a top 5. If he stays healthy this year, he'll be right up there with Curry and LeBron in the media's conversation of "best" player in the league.

i dont know any argument from any basketball person where he would not be a top 5 player, probably top 3. you could say lebron, curry, then durant. he is ahead of anthony davis at this point and ahead of westbrook overall also. he is probably the 3rd best player in the league and its not like he couldnt avg 35 ppg if he wanted to. he just needs to stay healthy for the next few years, especially this year, and if he could lead okc to a title he would be on fire in the hobby and in real life.

IMO. Curry is a hell of a ball player but even he isn't a top 5 player in this league. Is what he doing fantastic? Yes. Is he a great great ball player? Yes.

Would I take durant Westbrook Lebron Davis kawhi and possibly Drummond over him if starting a team today? Absolutely , not a slight on curry dude is a beast, but give me a few of these guys over curry

Too much focus on GS and Curry. We don't even talk about Spurs's defense (possible the best in the NBA history). We don't talk about Thunders even though Durant's PER is 29, and Westbrook's PER is 30.

they won the championship, you can't do better than that, I think sometimes people forget that factor, that the championship is the goal, curry has the win factor over many of the other guys you mentioned and he fills the seats better than alot of them as well, if i'm starting a team i'd take curry over anybody in the league because he's an elite player, a guard, has won a championship, and fills the seats, you can't ask for more, he's easily the most exciting by a mile, even past lebron, lebron is a pretty boring player to watch.

I'd take AD for sure over Curry right now based on the long term. I'd take LeBron over him if we're talking about the next couple of years. Westbrook is highly debatable and the other two aren't even close.

I'd love to hear your reasoning behind that one. Leonard is a better defender and has the ability to guard multiple positions, but Curry is better in literally every other department. I'm not a huge fan of Curry, but I'll give credit where it's due.

KD is more valuable than WB and it's not even a question. But PG13 is the next big thing

Has to be kind of close no ? Durant rarely in the best player Conversation.

Averaging 26/7.5/4.5 on similar shooting and efficiency.

Vs curry 30.8/5.4/6.3

its only going to hurt him staying with westbrooke. while westbrooke is a tremendous talent, he makes poor decisions. i get sick of seeing a wide open durant and westbrooke going into chuchbrooke mode.

He won't make it back to the top with the blackhole aka Westbrook by his side.

He is scoring 26 ppg with a TS of 65% and putting up good numbers in rebounds and assists. He is as good as anyone in the league right now.
