Default What's the deal with all the 2016 Industry Summit cards on ebay?

I see quite a few Topps cards on ebay with foil pineapple logos...most are 2016, but lots of buyback ones too that are stamped 1/1.

did they do this in prior years? i remember last couple years Topps had new auto cards but i don't recall any buybacks or exclusive parallels.

I don't know, but those are some ugly cards, the autos /10...the other cards look like regular topps from 2016 with a 1/1 stamp. They are totally going crazy with the 1/1 stamps this year. Making them way less important than ever.

They affect the interest and value of ALL 1/1s.

But as we all already know, 1/1s aren't rare.

I just picked up this one but they are not listed in Beckett's OPG for some reason:

They decided to move it back to Hawaii for the 20th Anniversary of the show (I think it was called the Kit Young conference in Hawaii back in the days). It was in Vegas the several years prior, and in 2015 the number of participants was over 250 dealers in attendance. This year there were 23 participants. I guess a flight and hotel to Hawaii is a lot more than to Vegas. I am guessing they had tons of leftover dealer boxes from the manufacturers, not sure how those cards will be distributed or sold.
