Default FAKE Essential Credentials Mcgrady /2 on eBay

Talking about this listing

You can find the real version of this card in the first post of this thread:

Obviously the stamping is a joke and the coloring is off, but seriously, how do people get away with this? To top it off this is a huge seller with 34k feedback 100 percent positive. Extra slimy that the seller appears to have another REAL essential credentials Mcgrady /79 listed to give the fake one more legitimacy.

EDITED TO ADD SIDE BY SIDE PICTURES OF THE CARD IN QUESTION:

I'd be interested if someone messaged the guy in eBay with the link and see what he says about the card.

It says 2/2. Still calling it a fake? Your link didn't show is that could have been 1/2

The link does show that.

Click on the bottom image. It is the real 2/2.

The same seller is selling a nice group of PMGs with highly questionable numbering as well - more than likely they're all fake now.

Nice work OP

I've updated the original post to include the picture of the back, but honestly is it even needed? One look at the numbering should be all it takes to send alarm bells ringing in your head. I mean, the font isn't even CLOSE and the kerning is a joke.

Yep, I stand corrected. Tempted to message the guy. eBay sucks enough for honest sellers without these guys making it worst. Maybe message eBay too with this proof.

I didn't even notice that. Look at how bad the stamping is on the green Mcgrady! If you search "1997" on his store page, it's a like a who's who of 90s inserts.

Basic rule of thumb anymore is to stay far away from any and all rare 90s parallels and inserts from Asia - way too many fakes coming out of there now

It's sad but true. Eventually though these cards will be in circulation all over the world. Hopefully by then people will wake up and start taking a closer look at the cards they're buying...

I have been watching his Grant Hills and think I may just stay away from them. He has a 97-98 Championship PMG and a Millenieum Man. I want them both badly but am scared now that they are fakes.

Have any of you guys looked them over?

That's for sure... Disappointing but the reality is the counterfeiters in China go after any and all commodities that bring high dollar for minimal effort, and cards fall right into that category. Electronic components, DVDs, the list goes on and on

Such an awful job on the serial #, only a novice would get fooled. I'm glad whoever's doing this can't replicate them that precisely yet.....

The serial number looks bad but I still wonder the amount of time/effort it takes to duplicate the acetate card. Those cards are pretty detailed and would have to take some effort. You think the card was really made by Fleer/Skybox and they just added the serial number?

Yeah. Probably so. I want the Hill PMG so bad but don't want a fake. This stuff drives me insane when people are shady.

Dude, look at the card. The foil is completely wrong. Somebody just scratched off the base foil and laid on something purple.

The EX credential is one of the two bankruptcy copies that was stamped later on. So it is fake for sure.

The green PMG looks legit though. I have a green the stamping looks consistent with mine.

I have been blocked by that hong Kong seller ever since I pointed out that they were selling a bankruptcy fleer non stamp logoman before. What a shame.

I'd like to see some pictures taken from different angles.

Card is real, the serial number is not.

I believe there are 1 or 2 of each players future credentials floating around that are not numbered.

All the cards are real....

The stamps on some may or may not have been added later (as in back door sheet cut or bankruptcy cards)

This seller has no connection with the Taiwan FAKE sellers.

These cards are likely form a high end collection, collected YEARS ago well before the other fakes where on the market...

The 2/2 is more than likely a real card with a stamp added later...

The rest I have no reason to question....

I hope that helps...

It seems as if someone simply colored the sides, maybe with a dye of some sort, then added numbering. you can tell by the see through letters on the back.
