Same broken elbow caused him to miss the entire 2010 season.

And so it begins for Arizona. That team took one Giant step backwards today; oooof.

Good thing the DBacks signed one of the best NCAA hitters of all-time; Rickie Weeks.

Socrates Brito is probably their new starting Center Fielder, he can probably hit .260 with 25 Steals, but Pollock is one of the top 15 or so Outfielders in the game. Can they swing a trade for Dexter Fowler or Jorge Soler with the Cubbies?

Let's see what Brito or Tomas can do...I think they'll hold the fort for a few months and contribute...

Pollock is certainly not going to be replaced by either one of them but the Dbacks have those 2 plus Borenstein and Glaesmann in the minors who can fill in also if they cant produce.

Terrible news. They could've used Inciarte right now. I have Pollock in my dynasty league, so I followed him all last year and this spring. Pretty crap that happens in the last spring training game. I hope he can recover fully and return to his old form whenever he comes back. Lots of amazing potential with him.

I just saw this on MLB and I was honestly expecting to open it and have a Rick rolled gif... that is a major blow to the diamondbacks. Does anybody know about how long the recovery time will be?

Not sure, but if he's having elbow surgery I'd have to imagine he'll be out most of the season at the very least.

That's a HUGE loss for Arizona. Now they're basically the Mets at the start of last season: Good pitching (with question marks) and hardly any offense aside from 1 or 2 guys.

Well, Goldschmidt is better than everyone in the Mets lineup from the past ten years combined. Mets pitching is better though.

Obviously, you cant replace Pollack with someone on on the roster or trade for one. It does give another player a chance to step up.I think if they can get their legs underneath them. They can be fine. For everyone who picked Goldy as MVP, goldy as mvp argument just got a little strongerif they can win.

In my opinion, this takes the Dbacks out of contention. Pollock is a game changer and this will have a massive affect on the teams success.

Now the other question , how much does this hurt his prices?

I totally disagree. Were 2nd or 3rd last year in the NL with runs per game.

It's all about how the team comes together and overcomes it. When the Royals lost Gordon for 8 weeks I thought we were done for but two guys, Orlando and Dyson stepped up big time

When I first saw this I thought it was a cruel April Fools joke. I think the D-Backs remain playoff contenders, but that really stings for them.
