Default UD response to ?? about LC Mystery Redemption

I asked UD this:

I am confused about my redemption information. I logged into my account
and typed in the code on the card.

When I look at MYREDEPTION now to see the status it shows:

Redemption Code

Date Received

Description Mystery Cut Signature 2008 MLB SP Legendary Cuts

Status Athlete committed to signing soon, please be patient. 6/11/2008

I looked at the checklist and was wondering what athlete could be ready
to sign - the list is mainly celebrities and politicians etc (many have passed on). Is this status indication in myredemption a true listing or just a glitch in the system?

...............................................................................................

UD RESPONSE TO MY QUESTION 6/15/08

Hello Collector,

To answer your question, it is not a glitch, but it is not an accurate
status message, however. Due to the limited amount of status messages
that can be assigned to a redemption in the system, it just means that
the cards are not quite ready yet. Although there is no tentative
release date as of now for these redemptions, they in fact will begin
shipping shortly. I apologize for the confusion. I hope this
sufficiently answers your question.

Thank you,

On June 11th and then again on June 13th I entered LC MYSTERY Cut Signature card redemption codes at myupperdeck.com and since then the "Status" has been the usual "Athlete commited to signing soon..please be patient..blah, blah, blah".....then looked yesterday and the "Status" for those two redemptions NOW says...."Check back for more details" ??

I've redeemed a dozen +plus cards from UD the past couple years and never seen that status description for a redemption card?

I wonder if "Check Back for more details" means my cards are on the way!?

Anyone else had their "Status" change like this?

Yes, that is what might status changed too as well. I don't think that means its been sent yet. Maybe they haven't quite decided how to handle the mystery cuts so they changed the message to that to buy themselves more time.......like they need to

They probably just changed the status message because it was confusing some people who didn't understand the way their system worked with the verbiage (even thought it never was that complicated...)

I called UD - the cust service rep told me that they changed status on all LC Mystery Cuts to "Check Back for more details" because the "original list of cut signatures was incomplete and that it's been pulled back"...and that the "new" list is being formulated and that more than likely once the list is done the cards will begin to ship out....knucklehead has no ETA on when that would happen....I mean why would he - he only works at freakin' UD !!!!!!!!

Incomplete??? So......they want to add more low level cut autos that no one cares about to water down what will be available? That or they released too many redemption cards and didn't have enough cuts to go around. Either way, that's pretty pathetic.

I'm assuming that since there are probably a good portion of their cuts that they can't send out the have an incomplete list because they have to replace those cuts. I wouldn't say that they released too many of the red. cards since they were probably counting on getting the CMG guys out with the rest of the cuts.

That being said, I'm sure the "illegal" cuts will make it out the back door and pop up eventually.

Nope, probably no Bernies or Rustys...I think they have to be {mostly} deceased to make this "Legendary" cut-sig list (although! I do see a few people on the list below that seem to me to be very much alive - i.e. George H. Bush)...this is the list UD "pulled back" because, in their words, it was "incomplete"....who knows what the new list is gonna look like...my money is that the new list is finally gonna have that precious Ken Caminiti cut-auto #/d to 899 I've been looking for!
