Anyone hear anything about MLB letting Donruss do Baseball again, Its been 3 years already i would still rather have some of there bad products over what Upper Deck comes up with.

what about Elite extra edition? Is it a different contract since none of the players are actually in the Majors?
I always liked elite. Passing the torch is one of the bet inserts ever made. They were always great looking cards and pulling one of those dual autographed versions was always a rush! |

I think the minors have a different contract than the majors do. Think about Just Minors and Tristar.

Donruss found a loophole in the ability to say that 'they are back in baseball' with its Elite Extra Edition product. They have no contract or affiliation with MLB/MiLB but they do have the right to obtain autographs from baseball draft picks. There is no endorsement needed to feature autograph cards from players in 'college' sports. Toss in some college legends and draft picks from other sport leagues and Donruss was able to label Elite Extra Edition an "entertainment" product. Its not a baseball exclusive product nor an official MLB licensed product but since there are college baseball draft picks included in the set they can use the 'Donruss is back in baseball' slogan.
You can expect more Elite Extra Edition but don't expect Donruss to be back in baseball ![]() |
