Default "Ewing's first card ever made" -- Classic Shop at Home

Classic Don West. Only he can make a Steve Alford card sound like a steal.

Man I used to love staying up late to watch Shop at Home. Problem was I was like 13-14 years old and had no money.

This guy posted some interesting basketball card videos. Apparently, Shop at Home once put up an uncut sheet of 1986 Fleer basketball for $3,999. That might be the only Shop at Home purchase from Don West that increased in value.

Same boat as me, but in hindsight it was a good thing

I was introduced to grading by them. He used to scream GEM MINT 10 and I had no idea what the hell he was talking about, just that a Griffey upper deck as a 10 was worth thousands apparently.

Those star cards are what causes rumors about star btw. They are not original licensed cards.

I'll always remember the cards spilling to the floor and him swimming in them.

A kind gentleman will provide us with that video link shortly.

Maybe this will suffice:

Hahaha, me too. My moms best friend worked there and would get me an employee discount. I've got a dual auto 8x10 of don and Eddie somewhere.

The messiah of snake oil salesmen. Don is/was a God and could sell prescription glasses to a blind man.

Despite the flury of absolute junk littered in their blue chip specials and Sosa/McGuire/Tiger woods cards that basically became worthless decades later...they did rarely have some good stuff.

I recall my father purchasing many Manning autos and flair legacy boxes from SAH.

Favorite part was when he'd make the fake call-in to Kenny who always pretended to be in some remote location in Thailand. Knowing goddamn well he was in the back of the studio laughing all the way to the bank. He had his own show a bit later on. He's a very odd looking character as well.

When the knife/sword show or the Beanie Babies show came on I was always depressed. I just wanted my sports memorabilia fantasy fix.

I lost an hour of my life I will never get back watching West on YouTube last night. I remember watching him when I was young and had just started collecting.

Someone bought some Manning autos, anyone else get any great cards? I won't call you a sucker for buying, he is a hell of a salesman!
