Half the season is almost over so the sample size isn't that small at this point.

BABIP is low because he is not hitting line drives and hits way too many pop ups. This isn't a bad luck slump, he's just playing bad. I think he'll be fine, but I'm not one that thinks Manny is any kind of elite hitter.

Good not great hitter, elite defensively. Overall should still be an all star level starter player for a very long time. I'd gladly take him on the Philles come free agency.

Yeah, his K's are up, but they're up about the same rate as his walks. It could mean he's trying to be more patient at the plate, but I'm not sure.

Also, his GO/AO ratio is actually higher than last year. We'd probably have to look into his Statcast data to see if maybe he's just not hitting the ball as hard or something.

Very odd.

Each passing week I expect him to start reverting back to the mean...and still nothing.

Power is definitely still there when he makes contact...but he's just playing downright horrible this year.

Wouldn't worry too much about him from a career perspective, but this is almost like the good guy/bad guy parity that we've seen out of Harper if this year holds up.

Pretty easy to see what's going on with him - this is the first year I've ever drafted him on my fantasy team. My first round picks have a tendency to have career worst years when I take them. No worries, he'll be fine next year.

he's just swinging for the fences a little too much. when he gets better at contacting the ball his stats are only going to go back to what they were + even more power.

I read on twitter that Manny was leading the league in balls hit with an exit velocity of 95+ mph. Just sounds like bad luck to me.
