Melania Trump: "These accusations about my speech hurt not only me, but also hurt my children Sasha and Malia."

Do you also like his claims that all Mexicans are rapists, plans to deport all Muslims, mocking disabled people, general condescending attitude towards essentially everyone, and a complete lack of knowledge of seemingly everything? I'm all for getting rid of corruption in politics. But if you think electing Donald Trump is the best way to do that, you are ignoring basically everything else about him.
He never said "all" Mexicans are rapists. He said the U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody elses problems. He said; "They're (Mexico) not sending their best, they're not sending you, they're not sending you, they're sending people with lots of problems, they're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some, I assume are good people."

As for deporting Muslims, I cannot find where he said this. All I can find (and recall) is that he wants to put a stop to Muslims entering the Country. And based on how things are playing out, that's fine with me; Orlando, San Bernadino, Brussels, the overrun Dearborne, MI and more (feel free to go on youtube and search "Dearborn, MI no go zone").

As for "mocking disabled people", he mocked one disabled reporter which I will say was crossing the line and despicable. But mocking one disabled person is not going to make me not vote for him. FTR, I have a (mentally) disabled family member.

How about two? Give him time. He'll get to it eventually.

For the record, the image I posted above is a "bat signal" for groundsupport. Not an insult towards our great community organizer.

I'll agree with the post from jdandns I quoted here in my last post in this thread for the night. Fine, you're right, technically he never said "all" Mexicans are rapists. He "only" insinuated that the majority of people coming across the border illegally are rapists and killers. Fine, maybe he has never outright said he wants to deport all Muslims, but he certainly has suggested it pretty blatantly. It's easy to find, Google it yourself. If you truly think banning Muslims from entering the U.S. is a wise idea, I have no words. How quick people are to forget that it was white Americans that committed Charleston, Sandy Hook, Aurora, and many more mass shootings in our recent history. Should we bar all whites from entering the country? As to the reporter incident, see jdandns. It's inexcusable. When have you EVER seen a Presidential candidate even a fraction as disrespectful as Trump? You probably have to go back to the slave era. I'm not just talking about the disabled reporter incident. It's a travesty that people support someone who conducts himself like this in public

Gotta get away from this thread for awhile, see yall later

This is 'Murica. Duh.

Born here, to American parents, and it's a ''mental issue'', not terrorism.

I loved this scene from Louis CK's new show Horace and Pete (great show BTW). It would behoove many people in this thread to watch and learn about this. Let's stop shouting our opinions at each other and maybe we can come to some kind of common ground. Political discussion isn't a sports where we should try to "win".

Warning, some NSFW language in here:

For those who don't know, that image is the actor who played Satan in a recent TV movie and it is groundsupport's Blowout avatar. It was either was meant to be a knock on Obama or else groundsupport's way of indicating his deep love and admiration for the actual Lord of the Underworld.
I was never sure.

Where is GS anyway?

I rest my case on the bolded.

Muslim is not a race. White aka Caucasian is a race. You're comparing a race (whites) to a religion/ideology (Muslim).

You are correct, but I am of the opinion that Trump is like a lot of misinformed people who thing that Arabs, Pakis, etc. are automatically Muslim.

Kind of like people who STILL swear that Obama is a Muslim.

The same people who think that ALL brown, spanish speaking people are ILLEGAL MEXICANS, even if they're from Cuba.

As a gun toting Republican that will be supporting Trump because Hilary is worse, I can see where Obama comes from on not using the term "radical Islam" and those types of terms to describe our enemy. There is a group of the general public that is completely inept that will/has used that term to label all muslims as "radical". He doesn't want the "crazies" to come out in full force with a war against the muslim religion.

But, by not condemning the actions of some members of BLM and inviting leaders of the group to the White House, he is feeding those same type of "crazy" minds to that he tries to prevent with the muslims. It's pretty sad he does not see this connection.

I agree with your reasoning regarding our country's administration and BLM.

I will say that I'm a gun toting American who won't vote for the lesser of two evils anymore.

I quit that in 2008.

"We will get what we deserve". This whole world would be a lot better if people turned off the TV's and picked up a book.

BLM and the Trump movement both have good qualities, but the problem is that each are being taken advantage of by people who have deep seated hatred. They are using each as a facade to display their hate in public. It's always been there, but it's now easier to display on the streets. The media is there to broadcast it 24/7 to the public, which is reaching more of these types of people.

The thing with Trump is that he has such a thin skin when it comes to being attacked or having something he said being criticized. He is used to having yes men around him, so to have people on such a large scale disagree with him or call him out on some of the racist and misogynistic things he has said took him aback. He doesn't know how to handle it (though he seems to have been coached pretty well about dialing it back).

I've never liked the idea of businessmen becoming involved in politics because running a business is completely different than running a government. The best President, IMO, would be someone who had been a governor or at the very least a few years experience in congress.

Very true, but if everyone picked up a book, how would we be entertained?

I agree with your assessment on Trump and BLM; they both have basic, good intentions, which used in the correct way, could be extremely productive.

The hate, the racism, the ignorance overshadows it all, though.
