There was a Sports Illustrated for Kids issue that featured a story about this. My son was showing it to me when he got that issue - it talked about Sale pitching to contact and not throwing all out all the time.

Light is a power bullpen arm. Throws mid-high 90's but lacks command. Could be a good late inning arm if he ever harnesses his stuff but no one seems really confident that is likely. Decent return for Abad IMO but not outrageous either way.

They'll need to do more than that as well if they activate Kimbrel today.

Kimbrel / Ross Jr / Abad / Ziegler / Barnes / Buchholz / Kelly / Tazawa.

Probably Joe Kelly back to Pawtucket.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm fine with that. As expected, not a huge return for Abad (not that one was warranted), but it didn't make sense to hang onto him

In the off-season, hasn't been a problem since I don't think. If they want the deal down it shouldn't block a cleared medical, he's been running great in the outfield.

Thanks... You can say it was a light package for the Sox to give up.

Source says a medical issue might be holding up the Bruce deal between #Mets and #Reds. Stay tuned.

Rosenthal: Source: #Marlins sending Rea back to #Padres but keeping Cashner. Rea left first start with MIA due to elbow injury.

Maybe the hold up has to do with this?

im a big Sale fan...but its not like he came back to earth and has been 3.00era since...he has been dreadful since the first 9...like 4.71era over last 11...that is not "regressing" that is sucking

Update from Rosenthal- Not yet sure how reworked #Marlins-#Padres deal will look. Told that MIA is “trading” Rea back to SD, keeping Cashner.

This is weird

This is becoming 2016 all over again, people will say it's the Mets' fault, then we find out it's something about Bruce and we go get Lucroy instead.

Cry Wilmer, cry!

This is a shady look from SD. They must've known Rea's elbow was barking beforehand. If not, why would they accept him back?
