I liked today's game even though we lost without our 2nd best hitter (some make the case for best), Sloppy game mentally and physically and still only lost by 1.

HOT PROSPECT ALERT: Giants called up Joe Nathan.

Maybe they mentioned it in the game, I dunno, I missed the game.

Cueto looking good so far and we were able to take advantage of a Hayward misplay. Forgot to mention yesterday that MadBum is 1 win away from 100

That was a stupid play and literally gave Giants a free out.

"Bochy: "We've been in this for a while, it's time for us to wake up ... We're better than this." Said he'll rest some starters tomorrow."

Rest the starters, so, I guess that means the B squad are better than this..lol....one still has hope, anything can happen, but the Cubs series sure felt like what would happen if they even make it into the playoffs...need to find some mojo!

I see in the news that Matt Duffy of the Rays is probably going to have season ending surgery.

This is a disaster. I hate watching this team right now. I'm almost to the point where I want them just go ahead and lose enough to drop out of the wild card hunt so we can move on already. The bullpen can't keep a meager lead and the lineup can't get a bullpen-proof lead. They're wasting great seasons from two different starting pitchers. End it.

Casilla has been at the center of so much losing for this team it seems this year...there have been plenty of issues other than his blown saves and such, but good grief by this points it's like the guy comes into the game like the fix is in and he owes money in Vegas.

Casilla has been responsible for directly losing at least 8 games that I can recall. Not to mention the other games he set up for failure. But Bochy sticks with these guys; when Romo clearly didn't have it, Casilla is a disaster, when Strickland grooves a pitch and it goes 500 ft the other way, and he gets mad so he drills the next guy. Ugh, this is painful and it's not going to end well.

I don't know if Bochy is just losing his touch, or whether it's just bad luck, but his management of the bullpen this year has been brutally bad.

Seems like no matter what move he makes, it blows up in his face...

It's probably overuse and high-stress situations, which, again, goes back to the offense doing enough to put the game away. The Giants have played in 50 1-run games this season, most in the majors. That has to take its toll on everybody, not just the bullpen.

Bochy put too much faith in Casilla. You can't let your pitcher derail the entire team. His control is crap and he keeps hanging his breaking balls. A closer either needs to throw heat or have great command of his pitches. There shouldn't be any hanging breaking balls. Those are batting practice pitches.

Literally I just walk away when Casilla is brought in.

I would tend to agree with this- but, Bochy has done this in the past and the rest of the team seems to pick up the slack. Remember Brian Wilson would get at least the first two guys on base before striking out the side a lot of times. This year is different because the bullpen is not nearly as good as it's been in years past. Casilla isn't the answer. No Affeldt and no definitive closer are finally taking there toll.

Casilla coming in with a one run lead!

I hope once he stepped out of the bullpen they snuck someone else up.

Jake Lamb on deck, oh the drama.

Think they just mentioned Wil Smith is back up again in the bullpen already. Yep, there he stands.

Good hustle by Casilla. Now he faces his nemesis.

OH MY GOSHERRRARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ahhhahahaha Cory Gearrin is playing left field

He's back on the mound now to pitch again for the Lopez failed.

Take your strike three and go home Castillo! sayeth the ump ejecting him..Posey framed that pitch up quick

Lets go left fielder Cory Gearrin! One strike away....

Yay, the left fielder gets the save!

Giants get the sweep! Going home to play the Pads. We cannot lose a game in this series if we want to stay afloat in the playoff and division race. Only 3 games back so there is still a shot
