They could do rookie debuts, call ups, milestones, etc. and fill the base set out nicely.

HHN should feel more like Topps Update IMO. Topps update base sets are usually pretty loaded because all rookies and stars get a second card. They shouldn't be afraid to give anyone a second card in HHN either.
Spot on... They need to add value and there are easy ways to do it also..

They need to insert a Vet presence that has always been missing in HHN...

add another sp .. like 1 every 2 cases... Do an all star card..

Do a 20 card checklist .. this way you can add trout harper bryant kershaw etc...

All great ideas with getting more rc cards and vets in it.. easy fix

But topps will do none of this...

With this product just need to cross fingers the AUTO checklist is small and has big names in it

Arroyo, Bellinger, and Happ are most likely IN because Topps already gave them rookie logos in Topps NOW. Last year Topps stopped the rookie logos at a certain point and made "Call-up" cards with no logo. The fact that those three all have the rookie logo leads me to believe they will be in.

So no go unfortunately

Right. Nothing that says Bellinger, Happ, and Arroyo wouldn't be in the product. Just one BO member's opinion regarding a vague response by a Topps employee who isn't really an insider per se. Sooz is good at her job but she never claims to have insider info on anything. (See her hypothetical post on Jeter's Heritage Auto. Everyone wanted info on how many cards he signed and she said she didn't know). She often gets the checklist for products the same time we do. What we know for sure is that the cutoff for HHN either just happened, or is sometime in the very near future, and that Topps has already decided to give Happ, Bellinger, and Arroyo the RC logo this year. So we can be absolutely certain that these three players will appear in any 2017 product in which they "make the cut" for.

The absolutely best thing about this year is that no sellers have been able to basement the Master Sets... They have all held very strong and I hope this can continue even with HH. We haven't seen NEAR the presales we have in the future because of Topps changing the game with harder to get SPs and inserts and that has helped keep the EV high on boxes and singles.

I read "no go unfortunately" to mean they were not in the product. I was going off of memory, which is not always the best thing, when I posted originally in the thread. I want them to be there and hopefully they will be.

Julio Urias debut last year was on May 27th or 28th and he was a redemption auto in chrome and had a Hhn base. Don't think there's any question bellinger and happ will be in these products in some capacity

I believe 2016 hhn came out in november last year.

It's August this year. Much earlier.

It's about a month difference, came out in September last year. So could lose the base card. Would be surprised if there's not an auto redemption at least though

Can someone answer this as I am new to Heritage this year:

Is Heritage High Number an add on to the original heritage set? Will cards start from 501-750 etc? I've never done HHN and this will be a first for me.

I'm currently working on the 500 card 2017 heritage set now and am almost complete. I hope to finish before HHN comes out.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the retail offerings?

I like that the Bazookas are #'d to 250 (what topps should have done with the game cards in series 1, that would have been fantastic) but most collectors are not into under/oversized cards these days...

Or am I off base (no pun intended) on this?

There are so many simple things topps could do, as others have said, that could really bounce this product and add value.....

I'll be mildly perturbed if recent callups can't make it into HHN. This should be the type of product produced specifically to get these guys on cards in the first place.

What would be really cool is if they put cards of Ryan, Seaver, Bench, Reggie, Carew in as base SP's.

If they were numbered to 250, they would sell for 3-4 bucks. Since there SP'd to 250...they normally go between 15-25. If your a retail ripper be happy they are not numbered.

Been slowly buying more baseball than football lately. Really enjoyed Heritage this year so can someone please answer a newbie question?

What's the big difference between Heritage and HHN?

It may have been said already, as I am typing this only getting through the first page, but 2015 was kind of a special year for HHN as we had Bryant and Correa that were able to carry the product. 2016 wasn't bad either with Diaz and a few other guys selling well. 2017, who knows? A lot of the guys that we would expect would be able to carry it were already featured in the main release. I'll be doing my normal stuff with the set regardless.
