Best: Rush 11x between 2007-2015 (mainly Saratoga, Darien Lake, and a few other places in the Northeast); Metallica 5x between 2003-2017; Green Day twice in 2017 (St Paul and Darien Lake); Tom Petty at Darien Lake 2008; Kittie in a tiny, sweltering Syracuse club called the Lost Horizon in 2011...and many more good ones I can't think of at the moment

Worst: I don't recall seeing a show with a bad headliner...but occasionally there will be opening bands that kinda stink up the joint. As I mentioned over in the "What concerts are you seeing..." thread, when I saw Slayer (who were AWESOME, as were Anthrax and Testament) a couple weeks ago, I thought Napalm Death and Lamb of God may have been the two worst bands I've ever seen live. Nothing against those who like them, I just personally don't get the appeal of either one.

Best I have ever seen: Primus and Clutch, Mankato, MN, August 2016. It was a small ampitheater, perfect summer night with not a touch of humidity in the air, with a BBQ rib cook off happening on the other side of the grounds. Both bands sounded incredibly clean, played every "must hear" song I had going in, and it was my first time ever seeing Primus, who had been #1 on my bucket list for years.

My previous #1 was Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and Halford on Maiden's Brave New World tour in 2000, but that became a distant #2 after Primus and Clutch.

Best - Springsteen on Broadway

Worst - Weezer, which was very disappointing as I love Weezer's albums but they are awful live

I don't go to many concerts because crowds aren't not my thing. I can't enjoy something if I don't have room to breathe. I prefer smaller venues as opposed to big arena type settings.

I did go see Pink this past April. She's an incredible performer. She doesn't just mail it in. She sings upside down and while flying through the air on a device that takes her through the arena.

The worst was probably Good Charlotte. Not because of the band, they were ok. But it was because we were on the ground floor, with no seating, and the punk kids were moshing. At a Good Charlotte concert. You can't make this up. I spent most of the night trying to protect my sister and girlfriend (who is now my wife) from the sweaty teenagers bumping in to them.

Best concert was The King's Singers back in the late 90's. Very private venue and got to meet them after the concert.

Absolute worst concert was Fugees with Cypress Hill. Lauryn Hill's voice was shot and Cypress Hill was so high they forgot half their lyrics.

My worst happened in college when they were held in the gymnasium.....the acoustics were beyond awful and you could hardly hear them correctly. I saw probably five shows there and all were forgettable.

The best was seeing Roger Waters at Fenway Park and how they turned the Monster into a prop piece.

Puffing on a J that got passed down our full row there was pretty magical, also.

Best- 1991 RPI Fieldhouse Pearl Jam, then Smashing Pumpkins, then Red Hot Chilii Peppers. Still have the ticket stub and the write up from the old Metroland Newspaper in my old footlocker.

Worst-1991 or 92 Phish at Union College, walked out. Come to find out a bunch of years later it’s one of the most popular shows people wish they were at.

Hard to call my best have been to some great ones.

One of the best was clearly White Zombie/ Filter in 1996

One of the worst was ironically White Zombie and Pantera. It was one of White Zombies last concerts together and what made it so bad was Phil from Pantera was badly strung out on Heroin, hard for me to say but Pantera sucked that night.

I went and saw Def Leppard in 1992 as a gift from my stepdad for helping him put shingles on the roof. I suppose I could even find the exact date because I remember Joe Elliott, before he began a song, announcing to the crowd that Bill Clinton had won the Presidential Election. It was a great show. They are a very good live band imo.

I listen to all sorts of music but started going to country music concerts for a couple years. At Quicken Arena there was a show with Leanne Womack, Reba and George Straight. All sounded good and the show was decent itself. Garth Brooks finally started touring again after taking off 20 years and I was happy to see him at Console. Well he did 7 shows in 4 days and I happened to go in the last day due to my work. Sad to say his voice was 90% gone. Honestly wanted to leave after the first song.

In 1992 maybe, but not in the late 2000s when I saw them. Not a huge fan of their music but can always appreciate a good concert where the band sounds great and enjoys themselves. They did neither of those when I was there

Way too many great ones I've been to to pick even 5 or 10 favorites.

For me, the worst was a venue issue. Bon Iver at the old Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Studios. They're a folk band, and the acoustics were so badly screwed up that all you could hear from the mezzanine level was the bass and percussion.

Buddy Guy is great, saw him at the Mile High Music festival about 9 years ago in Denver. Looking back that festival was freaking loaded some of the other very impressive bands there were there:
Tool/Widespread Panic(dual headliners)
Incubus
Black Keys(when they were still a duo only)
Ben harper
G. Love and Special Sauce
John Butler trio
Gov't Mule
Robert Randolph and the Family Band
Railroad Earth
Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam

got to see DMB at the Gorge in Washington w/ Warren Haynes guesting on the final night.- Amazing venue!

Best-had 2nd row center stage for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers July 3rd, 2008 in Noblesville, IN. He played not one, not two, but three of my favorite deep cuts. Straight Into Darkness, Rebels, and Honey Bee plus all the hits of course. It was almost as if I had gave him the set list.

2nd best was going to Carb Day for the Indianapolis 500 last year. The Barenaked Ladies opened and they were better then I thought they would be but then Steve "Guitar" Miller showed us all exactly how he earned that nickname. Awesome show to end a hell of a party day. Which leads to...…

Worst-Back for Carb Day in Indy and its party time again. This year's show was Blue's Traveler and Train. Blue's Traveler was ok but not the right mix I think for the event. Train was a train wreck pun intended. They looked bored, going through the motions and quite obviously lip synching. 3 or 4 songs in we joined the masses heading towards the exits. I would have never paid to have saw them anyway and they did nothing to change my mind. Your results may vary.
