Thanks for the tip! I've been looking to spend $20k on a card and I think I just found it in that Jared Goff Cracked ice RC auto. Offer sent (fingers crossed).

Amazing a millionaire pro football player would resort to trimming cheap cards post playing days, and his responses on here are very flippant and arrogant. He had some great cards at the National in Chicago a few years ago, but his stuff dropped off significantly the next year. Can’t imagine he will be seeing strong sales in the future with all of this mess.

You can still make paper chain links if you want, I won’t judge you.
Not surprised at this response. Classic deflection and indifference.

Still haven’t seen ONE denial amongst the sea of sarcasm and condescension he has responded with. Not that it matters, but it’s telling. A shame really.

It won't affect his sales. All these high roller card trimmers just trade and sell cards to each other and they all know how it is. He'll be fine.

This is genuinely what I appreciate about him. He is actually the first one to get caught and admit to it (his lack of denial is admittance). And he's sticking around. Not answering questions, but sticking around at least.

Evan, I appreciate you. Keep hustling, but find Jesus in the process.

We are still talking about baseball cards though. And please explain... Based on "the Law"... honestly... what has he done illegally?
There is no law and the FBI has more important things to worry about. Someone said that "the FBI" was at the PWCC booth at the national this summer ensuring refunds...were they tho?

It should be relatively easy to either go back and read the articles on the net about it or find the trimming scandal threads from those days to confirm. You should read more threads.

You’re absolutely correct — the FBI has neither the time, desire, nor resources to combat fraud in a silly hobby such as ours...

I didn't even realize this guy was a professional athlete at one point. He certainly comes across as a giant douche bag.

Yes. I met them at that booth and received a $2300 check from PWCC in the mail like a week later. 100% can confirm they were there......but not just sitting there. They were roaming the floor.

My default setting is positive. This is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. We should be learning things and sharing our knowledge. We should be helping other collectors in their pursuits and celebrating with them in their accomplishments. Some people have become jaded and see the negative in everything now. I don't want that to happen to me because if it did I would probably just walk away from the hobby.

So, yeah, I took my experiences with Evan and gave him the benefit of the doubt. If that makes me dumb or a lark I'll wear that. I choose that over the alternative, which is initially thinking the worst in people and losing the joy in this hobby.

I also have no problem admitting when I'm wrong and saying so, which is what happened in this instance. I'm not really sure how I could have done things differently that would have appeased you more, 312, outside of just blindly being a minion.

Also, for everyone in here that's taking time to carefully word responses and find little nuggets of facts to "catch" Evan in a trap or something, save yourself the time. He is breaking out some All-Pro trolling on you guys and you're all falling for it. He does not care what any of you think or what any of you post in this thread. Like, "when was the last time I farted?" level of not care. He is absolutely laughing so hard little bits of pee are coming out. It has nothing to do with guilt or innocence or psychosis (really?), he just knows that any kind of rational discussion he attempts to engage in only results in one outcome, whether he is successful or not, so there's no point in seriously engaging. Every other party involved in this that attempted to engage got roasted.

So walk away from your keyboards. Go for a walk with your dog. Cool down. Because the more mad you get, the harder he's laughing.

I am sure that Evan has redeeming qualities... it just doesn't interest me.

So true because in the end he will still have his tens of millions regardless of the ultimate outcome. This isnt going to affect his lifestyle and all he did was defraud a bunch of folks that bust their butts an entire lifetime to make ends meet and find some fun in the hobby. Keep wetting yourself Evan, seemed you couldve learned a thing or two from Foles and Wentz. Merry Christmas

Not surprising to see Arthur lecturing everyone again.

Nobody cares what experiences you have with him. This is a thread about trimming cards. The evidence suggests he’s a card trimmer, and he’s done nothing to dispute it.

One of the things I love about the classic 1970s Topps football sets (certainly not the airbrushed helmets) is that they contain a much wider array of players - many more defensive linemen, offensive linemen, kickers, punters, etc...

I always wondered why offensive linemen get no love in modern sets. Now I know.

I generally am on board with how you go about things. Not all of the time, but generally.

This time though, your level of navel gazing has gone a bit too far.

That's maybe the impression Evan would like to give, but I doubt he's laughing very hard at all. It's a serious allegation which isn't going away....in fact, it's probably just beginning it's snowball descent down the mountain.

The reason a lot of these scandals get swept under the rug and not on mainstream sports news is there's nothing juicy to report without a celeb involved. Now, there's a whole new angle and great copy potential with a former NFL pro-bowler, super bowl champ, etc. Evan will have to address this at some point, in a serious way. He's smart to just offer quips and trolls now, because he doesn't want to pigeon-hole himself into any explanation or excuse yet, but I'm sure he's had discussions with his attorney and associates in the last 24 hrs. Doubt there was much genuine laughter going on.

And the rumor mongering about his cards in the future will hurt his bottom line. You can see how much play (even on the PSA/CU message board) that linking his purchase of the 1968 Nolan Ryan RC and its $699K pricetag in the PWCC vault is getting.

PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY MAKING TRIMMING JOKES ON THE PSA BOARD ABOUT THIS CROWN JEWEL CARD!!! ;-) Look now before it goes poof. (Well, I did just archive it for posterity.)

Lecturing everyone? On what? Am I in Crazytown? Did everyone miss the part where I retracted my defenses of Evan and gave BODA credit for, once again, doing a great job?

Points for you as I had to google navel gazing to see what that means. I'm not sure what wider issue I'm missing. I've done the mea culpa and agreed with BODA's findings. My recent posts were just in response of 312's condescending comment about me.
