I completely understand those who avoid confrontation and will meekly give up their place in line to avoid unpleasantness. I’m just saying that not everyone is like that. The idea of “a line” is pretty well established in America. Occasionally companies will use computer assigned “places in line”. Short or target themselves issuing a number I think there are a measurable amount of people who would stand their ground and tell the mob to piss off.
Ever been in a long line at the grocery store or for beer at a concert when someone tries to cut way ahead in line? Thankfully there are always at least a few people who inform them of where the actual line starts.

Well we already know that some car people have already been banned from Target because of the behavior so I don’t know what reports you are waiting for.

Asked if they had any Select or Prizm and of course the cashier gave me a deer in the headlights look so so I left it at that haha. Let’s see what happens next week, hopefully they will enforce the no chairs thing.

lol, i think you might need the timeout. i’m not even going to be there friday morning, i’m perfectly calm.

Either way, line/ no line, it’s not going to help you get cards. that’s the point you keep missing. Maybe one week you can convince target to not honor them.. the week after they will be right there in line ahead of you.

i keep responding to like 5 of you in different conversations, but the line rule is a red herring here. Everyone is worked up acting like they’ll actually get cards if people are made to stand in the line.

Whatever rule is established and agreed to, there will be people there at 3am or earlier. Fighting about standing in line or not is misdirected energy.

I’m not sure if this is the right forum or not, but spoke to the “guy” who works the electronics counter at my local Meijer, where they now pass out cards and surprisingly they have baseball cards in stock whenever I grab groceries. He said since implementing the new procedures, sales have gone up over 100%. The inference is that people were just stealing. I tried to clarify whether it was related to releases, price increases or just managing the sales and he said it was the latter. Now I’m sure each store has a different experience but if I ran a retail store, I don’t know how I could go back to putting cards on shelves again without constantly managing the inventory.

I agree with this. A line system is always going to cause issues - people will just setup tents if need be.

It's ridiculous, but they need to a do a lottery system. Show up during a designated time period, grab a ticket (or a virtual one), and wait for your number to be called.

More fair for customers, but a waste of time and energy for Target. They might just go online only for cards and sell to bots.

yes this true. I know a guy who manages the stocking of cards at a local chain. he used to funnel them to people that he knew were going to pay for them because when they went onto the shelf most of them just ended up getting stolen.

Nope. Had it happen. I walked to the front of walmart at 6am, 645 they started emerging from their cars. 2 guys said we are 1st we have been here since 3:30. I said no you arent. I got a Prizm Basketball hanger and pulled a zion silver, deni orange, and an Edwards rookie, also got my son some shining fates and he pulled the charizard shiny.
