I thought I was OCD about corners and all that but I'm not bothered by the corners on this (or by the red print marks on the back). That it went through both PSA's as well as PWCC's eye appeal review for the coveted "S" designation might tell you something.

The off-registering in the photo drives me nuts, though. The color quality with the off-register examples is usually worse as well (more orange in the "red" portions of the card, MJs skin and upper balcony color are shifted somewhat toward gray).

Maybe I am a bit harsh on the corners and yeah, it could just be extra fibers but there is clear white showing on the top-right edge. This is a 10 I personally wouldn't buy if I had that type of $$$.

Damn all these Jordan's are not 10's. The PWCC and Golden Auction PSA 10's have awful corners and edges. This market is all messed up. Imagine spending 200k-300k on a card you could get for 15-20k in a BGS holder with better corners and edges.

What's going on with the 1991 MJ Upper Deck Promo Card #1? These were $15-$20 raw all day long and now the cheapest available is $50?????? Did I miss something?

Still sticking with high-grade early Fleer Jordan long term as the foundation of a great Jordan collection. Right now there are currently less than 18,000 PSA 9’s & PSA 10’s of Jordan’s first 3 playing years of Fleer cards. That’s his first 7 issued Fleer cards—the following:

1986 Fleer base
1986 Fleer sticker
1987 Fleer base
1987 Fleer sticker
1988 Fleer base
1988 Fleer All-Star
1988 Fleer sticker

After 35 years, the number of both 9’s & 10’s combined is less than 18,000 TOTAL with all of the cards listed above added together. To put that in perspective, so far, after 20 months, there are 18,367 graded 2019 Prizm LeBron base cards (most are 9’s & 10’s). Let that sink in.

Totally get that, and I'd be lying if I said I don't regret not buying PSA 8s of his '86 base when I had multiple chances, but if you're beelining to pops being everything then why wouldn't 90s inserts and parallels be the "foundation"? Not putting that in quotes to be a smart ass, maybe you just mean something different. I'm aware that rarity - both in pops and print runs - isn't everything, but whenever people make that argument I only see one era to zone in on. Could even make an argument for Star Jordans.

Oh no, I’ve never been a “pop guy.” And anything is “acceptable” for your collection foundation. I too wish I had more of the inserts! It’s just interesting to me how the first 3 years of modern era Jordan base cards, inserts, subsets (7 cards), ended up so few copies in ultra high-grade condition—comparatively speaking to the mass numbers you see today in just 1 base card of LeBron.

I said it a while back but while there were a lot printed, those high-grade examples may come together to form a separate market of their own. Not only are the iconic images there—that many had/held/saw, (not the Uber-rare inserts that you just read about) but the low numbers are there too to make it a great chase.

Pretty sure that’s before BP.

That sticker and fresh PSA serial number really helped.

Will be interesting to see what the Goldin copy gets. Another very nice example.

congrats to the seller but if you zoom in on the yellow border on top it has black ink inside. for 800k+ that sucker better be perfect! That PSA 9 wilt rookie looked better, print was flawless, it actually looks like a true 10 and centered better than 2 of the three 10's in existence. Thought that was a great buy.
