Curry is so far ahead in the mvp vegas odds race. Yoker isn't even in the top 3, and likely will finish there seeing as these other juggernauts are having tremendous years AND will end up with a top ranked squad.

Same. Iirc, it all started during D Wade’s retirement tour then it gradually became a thing among stars after meaningful playoff games.

That's why I want to set a clear stage for better. Are we talking straight analytics, box scores, worth to their team, players in a vacuum?

yeah it's debatable, if you go by ws/48, it goes in order Wiggins-Poole-Gordon-Barton, which is probably how I rate them in my head. But sure, if you need a defender at the 3-4, there would be matchups where I'd pick Gordon over Wiggy. Overall though? at least Wiggy/Poole can draw defensive attention and have nights where they can give the star a night off by carrying a big load on offense. Gordon is fairly 1-dimensional. Barton is, uh, not my favorite. He seemingly chooses which nights he'll be engaged defensively and offensively he's a ball-stopper and possession-killer. He'd be better suited to a 6th-man role where he can just attack 2nd unit defenses.

Now if we go by all the advanced metrics, then it's GPII by far, like not even close. He looks like a god for the most part. Probably won't last, but right now, yeah he'd be Jokic' best teammate.

He is convincing me more and more that his style actually can work and lead to wins.

Wiggins is, and always has been, terrible. He's improved a lot on the surface, but he's playing in both an elite defensive and offensive system now. Poole's improvement on both ends has been the biggest reason for the Warriors winning this year.

While Wiggins is better at shot creation than Gordon, he also gets more open looks than Gordon. His efficiency has never taken notable strides because of his shot selection. People don't realize that Steph Curry pulls 2-3 defenders to his vicinity in transition whether he has the ball or not. That extreme gravity is in transition, but still exists in the half-court to lesser extent.

And it can not be emphasized enough how poor a rebounder and playmaker Wiggins is for a forward / wing player.

How do you get a 6'8 guy with 9 or 9.5 athleticism (out of 10) to have a barely noticeable rebound rate? You give him no motor and no ball sense (IQ).

All the "Philly doesn't need Simmons because they have Maxey" talk has gotten really quiet lately.

-Embiid is having his worst offense season of his career (granted, only 12 games). He's shooting 40.7%.

If things keep going south, at what point does Morey buckle and give in to a trade?

I laugh at these posts.

1 - Embiid forces the defense into a zone.

2 - Embiid is open several times; but the passer doesn't pass to him.

3 - Embiid is bodying Brown. He's open. The passer isn't passing because its a trap in a zone so Embiid has to pass it out; but not his fault if he never gets the ball.

4 - Wide open layup (that misses), but the play was to pass it to the corner for the open 3.

This statement doesn't relieve the pressure on Embiid for his poor performance this season. He's becoming another Okur (forgot how to spell his name, but was a center for the Jazz Mehmet Okur) who can spread the floor as opposed to dominating the paint... I'm not sure how I feel about it, but when his 3pt % is .2 below his FG%; you're up %^&* crick.
