JK5s next 3. No Acuna. But he hints that there’s 1 more after these.

Agreed, I love the English Yogi. Wasn’t there some controversy about it when it was released? Yogis daughter wasn’t very happy or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Plus none of the GPK style cards had been released at that point. And I can’t remember whether the Pardee Acuna had or not, but she clearly hadn’t seen it if it had. ““I know these Project70 cards are artist renderings, but all others are depicted as athletes in uniform while Gramp, arguably the best catcher of all-time and 10-time Yankees World Series winner, is shown like this?” she posted to social media.” |

Great to see the number of artists pushing to get to 20 cards. Hopefully one of the lessons Topps learned is that they need to set strict deadlines on these commissions.

Not a fan of any of them. The AB, I would have strongly considered picking up, if not for the ridiculous photoshopping of the faces onto the rings. The picture stands on its own (though I suppose I'd like to have seen it cropped a bit tighter to cut out the knob, so it would look like he was actually holding the bat like a bat). Of course then there wouldn't be any real artistic contribution, so it wouldn't really fit into the project...
I guess what I really want in the end is for Topps to just put the real photo onto a card?

I'm trying to understand the appeal of the Toy Tokyo wrapper, but can easily see why the others are liked.
Definitely in for the Harper, Guerrero, and Clemente. Not sure on the other two. There are only 9 more days of drops, presumably, so it will be a wild [and somewhat expensive] next couple weeks. 54 doesn't quite complete the sets for all artists with 16 or more cards, let alone the others, so I'm guessing we'll have a burst at the end of more than 6 cards per day... |

I dont think it will do gangbusters unless the artist themselves is the sales driving force. The last Kershaw was 282 cards ago and it was a Ermsy, which sold a PR of 2,773. Before that was RISK Kershaw, card #393 and it sold a PR of 1,018.
There is currently seven Kershaw cards. I would say if they are going to do a Pitcher card, may as well just go with whomever their favorite Pitcher is, and if thats Kershaw, go for it. Won't make a big difference. |

Got my first foil today - the Jacob Rochester 1977 Satchel Paige. I dig it.
Somehow I hadn't realized that these came as extra cards, I thought they came in place of the normal one. Unexpected bonus for me! I guess now I will need to track down a foil Josh Gibson to pair with it, if I don't get lucky on that one too... |

The long-awaited Wheeler mail day!
I hope all the other patient Wheelerians receive their goods soon too. |

Ha, no thanks. APs don't do anything for me visually, nor conceptually - rarer, sure, but the rarity was paid for, not random. I'd much rather have, even if I'm getting it second hand, something that originally came via via luck of the draw. Don't really know why, but that's my preference. At least in situations like this where the two options are actually pretty close to the same rarity...
