In February of this year the market cap of TS was $965 million. It is currently sitting at $543 million and declining and that is with all the new moments introduced between February and now.

Who would want to put any money in unless you are just a collector and don't mind a constantly declining asset. I don't think there are many of those for them to chase down.

All these free tickets and trips are not much of an attraction when there really is only .001% chance of winning or less.

What sunk it, in my opinion, was everything they did to protect the whales. Collector score and multiple queues made the barrier to entry so incredibly high. Killed growth right then and there.

My hot take/conspiracy theory is that they had to do that because when the market got hot, they didn't have the funds to pay them if they wanted to cash out so that's what they come up with.

That wouldn't have been an issue. In order for them to cash out, somebody would have had to have bought the moments so they would have received the money from the buyer purchasing dapper funds to make the purchase. All money cashed out comes from someone else putting money in.

Plus they would only have to pay out 95% of the money received because of the marketplace commission.

Ohh wow... So it's basically just a loyalty score now:

Spend more money on moment, get more rewards points.

Sucks for the ppl who paid up to buy moments that would pump up their score under the old system

I mean I like it better than the old method, I don't know about yall.
They still will reward full team sets, just better. And if you don't want to do a team set & just want to buy a moment you like, you get rewarded great as well.

I like them rewarding value (actual buy/sales) for a moment to determine CS, rather than their own made up point value.

What will this do to bring in new users or increase individual moment values? Who knows.

At this point, any minor improvement is good news.

Also allows for speculation, which is not a bad thing. Your downside is only the price you pay but upside is unlimited. I'm good with it except for not crediting set holders. Maybe they'll up the airdrop game for that.

Unless I read it wrong, the TS Score is locked at what you purchase the moment for so if it goes up 10x in value you don't get more points because it went up in value.

This would be the best plan for TopShot last year, but knowing how they think, there will start burning moments after everyone left . So burning 1/2 of the moments will still be a over saturated market next year.

TSS seems to be a slightly better system than collector score but doing away with set bonuses is a massive mistake. Very disappointed in that.

Yeah, agreed.
But they said full sets are the complete focus for airdrops now and special challenges.

One of those challenges out now promotes that.
Have one moment of all members of the all-rookie team. If you have Rising Stars S3 set, its basically a free pack.

I have the set now & I may consider still selling it though, because I don't feel they will do things like this enough times to warrant someone holding it for the long run.
