Taylor doesn't just play the easy positions -- he plays the hard ones too. He plays both centerfield and shortstop, which means he can naturally slide over to an easier corner spot. Did you see him thrown out a runner at home plate on a fly ball to right field? It was on Sunday Night Baseball, I believe.
Fyi, he’s played exactly one inning of shortstop this year.

Utility isn’t a designation one qualifies for.

So what? When a player is good enough to pitch and hit well, it is factored into their WAR when they do those things well.

Gotta go with Shohei.

Bball is a sport where no matter how great you are individually, the impact you have on winning can be marginal. This isn't basketball or a QB in football. A hitter gets 4 ABs and a pitcher pitches every 5 days.

If Shohei wasn't MVP last year, people would be going nuts over him this year. It's just voter fatigue.

Judge is carrying a team under pressure virtually on his back. Nearly .26 % of the Yankees run production. Unsure of what other candidates have but take the Runs and RBI’s, minus the home run total and the total is divided by the total runs the Yankees have scored.
Runs + RBI’s - Home Runs = ? and then divided by Yankees total Runs = %

Judge is 19 for his last 37, with 2 doubles and 6 HR.

If there was any ambiguity, I believe he has put that to rest. Sho made it pretty interesting for a couple of weeks there when Aaron was quiet.

Will be interesting to see if it is J-Ram in the third spot, or Trout.

Ohtani was only "close" in the minds of the Ohtani boys. A recent ballot of "experts" voted 17-0 for Judge.

It would be nice to see Judge surpass 61 for the MLB record.

Check my prior posts, I said it's been over for many weeks. Sorry your boy isn't even the best hitter on his team.

Sheesh, you are sensitive. Don't worry, your boy's got it.

I said Sho made it interesting for a couple of weeks. Red is Sho; Blue is Judge.

Aaron Judge has been incredible.

But Shohei Ohtani has basically been Mookie Betts at the plate and Max Scherzer on the mound.

Judge will win it - but the extra 20 HRs and glove in RF doesn’t outweigh the ace on the mound IMO.

Fangraphs has him at 9.7 now. Lol. And that's with a net negative defensive value.

The only thing he was "quiet" on was hitting home runs at the pace he was in the beginning. Meanwhile, he was still hitting, raising his average above .300, and carrying the team's offense on his back.

Tell me you are bad at math without telling me you are bad at math. Look up those offensive WAR numbers- if the Ohtani folks live by WAR y'all gotta die by WAR. Ohtani is not even close to Betts at the plate right now with respect to WAR.

Pretty sure the "Ohtani folks" are the ones arguing that WAR is NOT the be-all, end-all measure of value. And we all know that a RF and a DH with identical batting stats would have markedly different WAR, given the larger positional penalty applied to the DH vs the RF.
