Total cost will be $3600 for basic processing, presuming they're all not too wide to fit in a 9-pocket sheet (those will cost a bunch more individually: weed them out). Rarely, but sometimes, they create a cheaper special for submissions. The last couple have only been for faster service levels.

To answer your question, they'll start charging you once they go through and process the first groups from your submissions. So if you submit 7200 cards, a few weeks in you might have 100 upload. They'll charge $50 from your store credit, and you get to price them. The next night, there might be 30 more the process. Once they do, they'll take $15 out of your store credit. The next night, there might be 500, so they'll take $250 out of your store credit. If you go into the negative, they stop processing your batches until your store credit is back in the positive dollars.

So if you put $100 in, then price your first batches competitively, you can keep paying for your submission through sales, and not have to add in more store credit.

Thanks!
You get charged when the process the cards, not up front.

Pick out 200 that you think will realistically sell between $5 and $10 (or more) and then when you have $500+ in your account from selling some of the first 200 cards, send in 1,000 more cards at a time to minimize going into your pocket to pay the processing fees.

I just want to say that I have asked for shipments of a couple hundred cards at a time once or twice a year for the past few years now. For a long time, there were always a handful of cards that were the wrong card (like not the refractor version of a card or something). However, for the past three times that I have had cards shipped to me, every single card has been correctly included. Perhaps it is the barcoding now, but COMC has really done a great job recently. This last shipment of about 200 cards took less than a month to receive as well!

Does COMC typically offer a discount on select and elite processing fees if you drop off cards to their booth at a smaller regional card show, or were their discounts a one-time special for the National?

Discounts are too rare to be planned around, IMO. I have not heard of submission specials for smaller shows in years.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I was planning on dropping off since I will be going to the show (Philly Show) next weekend no matter what and the shipping can really add up when you submit larger sized items like graded cards and autographs.

I found a blog post on COMC's site but it only shows upcoming appearances at card shows, not past ones. https://blog.comc.com/upcoming-card-...d-appearances/

I have only been selling on COMC for less than a year so it's helpful to learn a bit more about how often they offer discounts on fees or shipping.

Like Kramer/Newman and the bottle deposit scheme, I've been trying to figure out how many boxes of cards I'd need to drop off to justify driving to Washington and netting savings on the postage. Gas prices are the real killer.

What you need is a steam-powered car. Load it with as many sports cards as it will hold. Then burn cards in the boiler to power the engine. When you get to the show, drop off whatever cards are left.

You could double up on this program and really maximize the trip.

Load up on cards and returnable cans/bottles - drop off the returnables in Oregon for the gas money, keep trucking to WA to drop off the cards, spend a day or two raiding recycle bins on garbage day for more returnables, cash those out back in OR on the way home.

It is basically a perfect plan.

I've never had this issue before.....I have a batch of cards starting to populate and my Patrick Mahomes Disco Prizm showed and they listed it as Poor to Fair grade. This card is in great condition, not sure what to do.

It could be soft corners on the back. It is rare that COMC will reverse a grade.

Might be best to send the card back and examine, instead of getting burned on an overly eager condition note.

Nah, use the Support button first to have them inspect it in person.

I'm not saying they won't do it, but good luck with that.

First post, be gentle LOL. Just getting back into the hobby after 35 years. Tons of $1-3 commons. If I understand COMC correctly, if I sell a card for $1 on their platform they take 50 cents up front and then 5% of the sale, so I would net 0.45 if I sell a $1 card. Am I way off or does that sound about right? Thank you.

that is possibly correct.

if they are all standard sized common cards you are correct. if there is any odd type stuff the processing will be more expensive.

also, after 90 days you will start getting charged $0.01 per month for any card priced $0.76 or more.

That's correct. We usually recommend your first few submissions should be on cards you plan to list for $3-20 each for this reason.

Add: well, plus the cashout fee if you take a paypal or check instead of plowing your 45 cents into more cards.

Much appreciated, just needed a 2nd opinion before sending them a bunch of cards. Just going to make sure the cards I send in aren't already listed at 40-60 cents where I'm making nothing (or losing).

Inevitably you're going to "lose" on some cards (or never sell them). Especially at 16 weeks you never know who/how many of the same card you're sending in is already waiting to be uploaded.

Had a similar problem yesterday and today. Had about 70 cards load yesterday (mostly 2018+) and over 20 had condition notes with zero issues visible on the scans. Not saying I never miss something as I'm not closely inspecting all of these cards, but this is silly. Guessing it's just a poorly trained/overzealous processer, but it's pretty absurd due to how lax they usually are. I have two cards that have been sitting in my port unlisted for over a year because they have major issues I knew about and COMC didn't note them despite me requesting notes ~10 times (including email in addition to the report feature).

Make sure that you check the quantity of cards that are already listed. Let's say that a card that you are sending in is listed at $3. There may already be 20 cards that are listed at that price or higher. Also, check the sales for the last 4 years. Is your card listed for $3, but there haven't been any sales of this card during the past 4 years? I check these specifics on each card that I am contemplating sending in so I'm not spending 50 cents submitting a card that will never sell.

Are they having shipping issues now? Been trying to get cards shipped for four days now and I'm getting endless site errors at all hours of the day. Typically in the past Tim would reply back to the error message either explaining what is going on or asking for more details on what I am seeing on my end with the errors.

Nope. I requested a shipment on Wednesday. It was processed and shipped today.

Processing is weird right now. I have 2 standard batches due 11/1 that are about 90% done, but have 2 standard due 11/10 that have 0 cards processed.
